The Secret World a version of The Matrix Online Re-Vamped...

I decided to give a try to TSW but after 3h of play time I already regret my choice. The game feels like TMO the way you turn your quests by sending them by phone... The skills the way you move in the world, etc. The graphics are good but not perfect. The cinematic are long and boring. Our character does not interact with the conversation it stares at the others and move like a retard while you listen to the lore.

Dying and running back to your corpse belong to UO or WOW not to a new MMO this is old stuff and we don't need that.

EA broke another game they don't produce games they just break them put them to the market steal people's money from the Pre-release and the Lifetime Sub and then shuts the games for good...

Anyway I have 30 days of play time I will use them but really EA you can't do s*** in the game business.

Interesting theory, but I would have rather seen the combat system from Matrix Online than what is used..

The graphics and movement ARE rather similar but thats about it really..

Really? Maybe in a few more hours of play you'd realise you can respawn at the anima well and not corpse run?

Phoning your missions in? Do you really want to run all the way back to your faction city for every mission turn in??? Sorry now THAT would get old real fast. You're not turning in your missions to the person who sent you out. Unless, you're bringing something back to them for the mission objective. The phone call is to update your faction headquarters on your progress and it's set in the modern world.. makes sence to me to use a phone.

Now yeah, they could definately do some more work on animations and such.

Yeah, that first line said to me straight away, "I played the game, I didn't understand what I was doing, so now I'm going to say how the stuff I don't understand sucks because I don't understand it.".  And really? The Matrix Online? That game was awful, it doesn't even slightly remind me of The Matrix. Why does it do that for you? Because it's set in a modern world and you have phones?

Move along, nothing to see here.

    - This game has the best writing i have seen in a mmo hands down , make me really want to listen in cutscene and enjoy the           moment , like matrix online ?  i played that TSW is nothing like it .

Sad thing way too many players just dont read quests or have patience to listen to a cutscene.

Because it makes sense. Really. I guess players sit at the PC to PLAY (thus called a GAME), not to read a book or watch a movie. Of course, a reasonable ratio of playing vs reading vs watching should be maintained even in games, but it shouldn't be overdone. However, I believe TSW is great game even in terms of gameplay if you skip most of the cut-scenes. I don't see a single common feature with Matrix Online, other than the fact that you just have a phone call after every mission instead of running back.

Maybe play it for a couple more hour's, day's first. I had many gripes with it and still do which were amplified by the fact I really liked what the game was all about. It is pretty good once you get into it though but isn't the greatest game ever. I think if you play more you will find it enjoyable....

Anyway i just hope they fix the combat animations asap. Its not looking good for funcom.

So let me get this traight.

You complain you don't have to run all the way back to the NPC to turn in quests (missions).

But you then complain you have to do corpse runs after death? (which you don't have to, as you can just respawn straight at the anima well lol).

You want to run back and forth to turn in quests but not get your corpse? What's the difference?

Dying and running back to your corpse belong in UO and WOW. That's your opinion. In my opinion, death SHOULD be harsh. Otherwise, why have death at all if there is no reason for NOT dying?

You can't brake a game, but you can "break" one.

The corpse run mechanic is a mechanism so that you dont have to fight through content you already passed (being in an ethreal state). If you where doing an old school corpse run (to get your gear back/ having to slog through content ungeared) then you would have a point. Also this is a modern game with realism, the laws of gravity / physics have to work . . . . most of the time. So you wont get spikey hair that you need 10 cans of hair spray to accomplish. No over sized swords, Not every character will be a world class gymnist slashing every which way as they float through the air. There are only so many ways to shoot a shotgun.

Honestly, I cant wait for GW2 to launch, 1 so I can play it, and 2 so people will shut up about it  and get their expectations checked. It is not the mesiah you seek. Unless you cant afford a $15 subscription fee.

Nothing about this game is EA's "fault", and what you are complaining about here I rather like. (phones, corpse run mechanics).

I am not nearly so fussy as most regarding graphics/animations, they are a far cry from the 4 color CGA I grew up on in the 80's so I guess I'm more appreciative of what is available in titles such as this.

I find the stories quite good at times, just completed a terrific quest  chain in Blue Mountain over at the haunted mansion.

Also, this is the first MMO in a long time that makes me rage at it sometimes trying to complete some of the missions. (solo of course).  About time there's a game that presents some real challenges and I don't just sleepwalk through.
