Think I'm going to give this one another year or so before I try playing it. I refuse to go through another EQ2/SWG pay for beta experience.

To the people that want to pay for beta, I say kudos to you. Make the game great, test the hell out of it. I'm counting on you guys.

  • To the OP, yes i am highly anticipating DnL release.

As for the beta commentimage The majority of my favorite MMORPG experiences have been during the first few months after it launches live. I tend to focus on which level 2 bugs i can club with my healer rather than the game mechanic bugs that will be fixed down the road... idk, theres something about seeing thousands of people exploring the new lands/questing in mmorpgs for the first time that excites me.. the /shouts WHere can i find so and so.. god i love it...  The only game i ever felt ripped off by was Everquest 2, im not going to go into details or anything, but to say the least i was disappointed.

any feature they leave out from the faq will hit the game hard..
-they shouldnt advertise features the game will have later

at release people want to play the game with the features they read about (expesially(sp) when those features are in turn the backbone of the games core system)

its like buying something thats missing parts (in turn its not what you wanted anymore. not what you expected and your not pleased at all about how it turned out)

releases of a game will MAKE OR BREAK it.. --there are only a handfull of people out there who give second chances to games that didnt catch them in thier first play times--

I'm excited because some of the stuff that will be in at release has never been in a MMORPG before. And its gonna be cool and you are going to miss out.

I must not be the only one that thinks tons of missing content and features isn't cool...come on now. Just like so many other MMOs released in the past, this game is going to suck out loud at release. Give it a year though, and this game will be a good one. That is, of course, unless all the people that play this "pay to play beta" are just completely horrified at DnL's unfinished state and leave. By this time next year, this game will be a ghost town.

Trust me, I've been a member of the DnL forums for about a year now and I'm looking forward to playing the finished product next year.

Oh, Ghoul31...what are these "unique" features in which you speak?

No MMORPG is ever released finished. The best way to actually see what is missing, instead of guessing here, is to play the game in November ::::38:: Uh, and yeah, I'm excited ::::02::

Gliders and ballons will be cool

Its also the first game to really reward exploration.

42 trade skills! No game has crafting sytem like that. With caravans goining to cities, it looks like the economy will be more interesting than other games.

Guilds building their own cities. Sure Shadowbane did this, but it was very limited. This looks like it will much more in Depth than the Shadowbane cities.

So basically, there will be a lot to do besides grinding.

Snow shielding, the weather system, one HUGE SERVER, the land is 40x bigger than what EQ1 started off with...etc etc etc.. Not much info has been released about classes/races/quests but im sure with so much creativity in other areas of the game that section of DnL wont be a let down either image. I think DnL looks looks very "unique".

not sure how big 40x bigger then everquest 1 is lol. but for a more accurate measurement of how large the world will be, NPCube says 15,000 miles large.

So, the world will be 40X bigger and the game will have a population 400X smaller than EQ. The weather system should be cool but that doesnt make a game.

Traveling systems dont make a game either. Its fun for awhile but believe me it will be tedious after awhile. UO hit the nail on the head with its mark/recall system and for SOME reason no other game has impemented a similar system, and its a brilliant system! Encourages exploration and cuts down tedium!

If you mean bind and recall i tihnk you should give this a try but hey every one is in one world so if even half the fourm activy join thats 100000 subs which well automatical make it the biggest mmorpg of its kind as the current holder eve has 70k dubs and 15k on at the same time on one sever .

To every one intrest just keep an eye on the DnL site they said they would be posting  an offical word soon. To all those that think the game will flop maybe your right but please dont post what you think is missing what you heard is missing only post what you can prove is missing

i was very excited in the beginning[many mnths ago],but after time has passed and i haver seen countless videos of the game,i have lost most interest.

I would say they have tried and done alot of cool things but nothing has been done well.A couple examples of this is Climate/snow.The characters do not look like they are walking through snow, but merely look like a glitched player walking under a static mesh.Even the footprints[greyed/shadowy looking] left in the snow look so unrealistic and cheap.

The characters in the game look exactly the way WOW characters look. They don't look like they are part of the world, but merely pasted in/on top of the world.

The couple movies showing the dragon flight caught my eye also.Take a look at the trees. They look like sticks with a leaf pasted on top, very cheap looking. The voice in the background kept eluding to the fact the city they dropped into was a very simple city.I think he was defending the fact, the city looked very cheap and had very little content/interaction in it.

The players seem to move very stick like, but i don't think i have seen enough of the player movement to get a full grasp yet.

This game will most deffinately have to be tested before i pay any of my hard earned cash. All my hype towards the game is gone, but i will prolly still give it a beta/alpha test, since my other other anticipated game D&D online is run in part by a bunch of misfits>>[WOTC]and has no crafting,to wich alot of players like ,when breaking the monotony of hack n slash.

Oh well i hope when DnL finally hits the release stage ,the game has alot of pros outweighing its cons.I really do wish the game luck...weird thing i havnt figured out is that the game seems to have a huge following amongst the french speaking players?wonder why?

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I guess my definition of finished means basic gameplay feature and enough content to keep a casual player entertained for a few months with semi balanced classes with only a few minor bugs, not too much lag in either the Database or gameplay servers and servers up at least 16 to 20 hours a day. The company should also have some resemblance of professionalism in their CS and billing. The real question is will DnL have that much to offer or wil it be like Mourning?

    I miss DAoC

According to their site nothing really has been changed and I really hope it stays that way if it does there should be loads of things for us to do. I just pray it isn't like Horizons where they cut 75% of their races and other content.

    Current MMO: Aion
MMO Watch: Warhammer 40k Online, SWToR, GW2.
Played: Planetside, SWG, EQ, EQ2, L2, WoW, RFO, KAL, MxO, Voyage, RO,Vanguard,Tabula Rasa, Horizons, CoH/CoV,, Lotro, FFXI
