Looks like Ubisoft's DRM software contains a rootkit. :-) Nice to know they looking out for their shareholders so aggressively.
From Slashdot: http://games.slashdot.org/story/12/07/30/1214206/ubisoft-uplay-drm-found-to-include-a-rootkit
There is also a link in the article, but it's probably been Slashdotted by now.
** edit **
I'm so slow. Ubisoft has already fixed it so that the rootkit only has access to the UPlay site. That means only UPlay's site can take control of your machine. I guess that's an improvement.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Ahh reminds me of the good ol days when Ubisoft used Starforce DRM
Why would Ubisoft need to take control of their customers' machines? Seems like they are overstepping their bounds just a bit.
This is not a question of need, it's just that they prefer control over literally everything else. See Starforce.
I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high
And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll
Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore
I haven't bougth an Ubisoft product in so many years. And I'm glad I haven't. They just despise their customers.
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold."
