Judging from the videos I've seen, and from when I actually played as a Commando in GW1, I'd say you would have skills like Riot Shield (knockback + stun), Grenades (AoE damage + bleed), machine gun skills, rifle skills, etc. Basically it was designed to be incredibly overpowered.
I will say, though, that the event in GW1 where you got to play as a Commando was in all respects, awesome. I loved how they made it into a big spoof off the Terminator series.
