Yup, i am not sure if i like the idea of being able to stop people playing for 50 mins while they spend the time in jail. I have not really read into the system around it that much.

    Good Intervieuw.

This game is seriously taking it to the next level. Shame EU has to wait so much longer probably to try it out.

Only thing I am not sure of, is this jail system. Who the hell wants to sit in jail for 50 min doing nothing; imagine having 2 hours per night to play, sitting in jail for 50% of it is a gamebreaker.

    Just my opinion.., ideas?

Do not break the law then? :)

That's my sentiments exactly. If one can break tne law and continue to break the law then he/she has the right to do it. If they get caught/die then they have to pay the penalty. A harsh one at that.

well, some players have been screaming about "care bear death penalties" and this should make one think before he/she does anything.

I think that there has to be some mechanism that would regulate the behavior of individuals, such as the prison which also seems realistic.

One of the issues related to freedom in MMOs is its abuse in form of griefing, ganking, etc. This may be a tool to regulate this type of behavior. If you ask me, 50 min in jail is still quite a light sentence.

You are right that it makes people think. Like the person above said, you have 2 hours per day to play. It is up to you if you want to cause harm to other people with the risk that you may spend half of your playtime in jail. It definitely is a mechanism that can be worked with after the game is released. You can alter severity of the punishments, maybe a fine can be added for some specific types of crimes, etc. Interesting concept for sure.

Im  hoping that this 50 mins will be IN GAME TIME. meaning they cany just loge out for the night and come back and their sentence is over.

Theres things to do in jail. You can spend it trying to escape or play soccer. I believe there are a few things you can get involved with in your jail stay. Not just sitting on yout hands for 50 mins.

Yea. I read that the prison is on some island, so that even if you manage to escape, you still have to swim for quite a long time, so that it probably is not a "winning" activity trying to escape :). Not sure about this though, just read this somewhere...

Nothing that cant be solved by your priate crew awaiting your prison break and ready to pick you up on the run with their boats! Oh the joy of real MMORPGs... :) !

    Yea :)

    That sounds perfect

You could make a guild dedicated to killing all who try and escape as well. That is unless the price is right... =)

Don't really see how "in game time" would matter. even if it was 4 hours of "in game time" you could jsut leave the game running while you are sleeping... or at work..or whatever. Don't really see how in game time would make a diff.

I wonder if a Pirate who dies at sea by a mob/suicide(not by player) still goes to jail.  If not.. then he can maybe commit suicide if there are people hunting him nearby.
