Final Fantasy XI ,best mmorpg, or is Everquest 2 taking the crown?

I've been playing ff xi for a month now and the graphics are amazing, there are tons of quests, and the battle system is awesome. If you don't like this game, something's wrong with you. Please, feel free to express your comments.

His font size was actually pretty easy on the eyes. It wasnt too big either.
Anyways, neither games are "taking the crown" right now but Final Fantasy XI is definitly better-looking and the jobs are very original (along with the combat and stealth system). But Everquest 2 has better customization and I hear it has more to do.

Everquest2 blows hard. More to do ROFL. If you consider mindless quests and grinding more to do, have at it. I prefer long story lines, leveling in FFXI is fully a teameffort, and the crafting alone is incredible. One character that can be every job at any time is plenty to do. Quests are more indepth, and the scenery I feel is heads above every other game out there. Only thing good bout EQ2 is the water graphics and sky graphics, the rest is so dark and dismal.
I agree with the OP. Best Game Ever. I even played WoW, and got to 60. Came back to FFXI though, and with a new expansion on the way its gonna rock!
If I had to choose between only FFXI and Everquest 2, well I'd probably say it was a tough choice. For me FFXI was too much of just a treadmill, though I only tried eq2 for a week.
I hate to burst your bubble though, but as far as 'best mmorpg', I don't think either of them takes the 'crown'. If you want to go by subscriber count, WoW is the champion there with more than 4 million subscribers, more than 1 million in North America alone. No other MMO game has had that much success, so it's gonna be pretty hard to claim another as better than WoW.

True, but since everyone likes different things (I like futuristic games, while a friend of mine like fantasy games better).
So the question is, how do you judge which game is 'better'? Well it's quite hard, there's no real checklist to say which games are and aren't. The only real unifying aspects we have for these games are their success. I think it's safe to say that WoW is far more successful than any previous MMO game, so if there was a 'crown', I'd have to give it to them.
Everyone will have different opinions on which game is best, just based on personal preferences. Everyone can see the incredible success of WoW though.

once you hit lvl 10 you have to party
it takes a few hours to get a party most of the time...
there anything special untill lvl 18, 20, and 30
FFXI is the best MMORPG I played..so far( I played more then the ones Im going to list, but Im not going to name all the MMO <.<)
EQ2- sucks, but thats not a big Surprize..its by SOE >,<
WoW- could be better but the devs arnt as good, I mean they try that a good thing unlike SOE <.<
the only thing I hate about FFXI(and I love S~E to death) is that they make you play if you take a break for like a mouth XD, other then that its good. I love the devs..XD
later on WoW might be better who knows...
Eq2 will never be good, one by SOE they take there good games (like Planetside) and ____ them over so badly.
but FFXI and Eve-online for me XD...
I love the Teamwork in FFXI. you have to use it to get anywhere XD..I love it...hehe

What makes you think that either of these MMORPGs are the best? Everquest the original was better than EQ2, and I'd take Tibia over any Everquest game. Leaving FFXI? No. Final Fantasy said it was going to do a lot more than it actually provided. It was a basic, traditional, milling and boring MMORPG. If you want to go with high quality games, I'd say that Star Wars Galaxies and Ragnarok Online are much better than either game.
