Ok so this is probably my first and only post on this forum.
Lets face it..
All this talk about old school mmos and how they were so much better is all about emotions..
What??
Ok let me elaborate..
Nothing beats the feeling you had when you played your first..
The way you could viagra your e-peen to unlimited heights,
Not to mention when you reached the climax.
I played my first mmo when i was on a dial up connection and concorde was the safest way to travel.
I fell in love with the concept.
Well.. ALL good things come to an end.
In my personal opinion the mmo market is dead..
Why??
Well world of warcraft didn't help much did it?
They made sure that every big bugdet mmo that came after them had to copy them somewhat,
Well aware of that they copied almost everything of older mmos.
But they did it well.(Still have what? 10 mill subs..Kudos)
Though still ensuring that nothing "new" have hit the market for almost 8 years.
So what happens when you play the "same" game for 8 years?
You get burned out!
Sure there are variations and different approaches to the games..
But in reality you are playing what you have been playing all along.
It's all our fault.. We jump from hype to hype.
And then you have the discussion about subscription fees, free to play and buy to play aso.
If something seem to good to be true it always is!
Nothing is free anymore..
Both f2p and b2p have ways of luring money from you when you are not looking.
Even p2p has cash shops now..
So what can we do?
We vote with our wallets..
Next time your thinking about jumping on the next big AAA mmo.
Pay for something dfferent..
Like Red Cross..
just a thought..

It is my hope that investors will realise that the current theme park 'chewing gum MMO's' era is not as profitable as they hoped and start to fund player created contentsandbox MMO's who appear to be lacking this input lately.
Instead of seeing returns on initial month subscriptions per game, will see years and a much more generious profit line.
I think we have an even greater sandbox that is dying. Its called real life.I look at the attitude of the younger gamers and i feel like the world has just hit rock bottom.I am glad i am 30 and will probaby be dead before it gets much much worse.Such rotten heartless people alive that we have to call them *trolls* like its a normal thing for this type of behavior.
I would love to have a daughter or a son...but i love them enough to not ever let them be born into what is to come for the future generations.
oh yeah and games suck now....im oldschool.i like harsh death penaltys...grinds...and i like my epics to actually be epic.

Wow, you make it sound like your almost dead at 30 and the world is burning in hell fire. I always said that jazz music was the devil and those record players would destroy our society but the kids never listen do they.
You lost me at WoW did it good.....8 years? I don't think I lasted 8 days in beta...
WoW was like what I didn't like about LDoN expansions+ in EQ on steriods...Great for you if thats your thing, if not, not so much.
Your general announcment is like 7 years and many wanna-bes late. Being the next WoW didn't work out too well for people.
Of course there is.
The first proper (not counting pre-cursors like Kingdom of Drakkar) MMO i played is UO.
Almost ANY modern MMO beat it by a mile in the feeling of playing a "good game". I am glad the genre progress instead of sticking to old ideas.
I'm getting sick of mmo untill I try atlantica online.
It become a first for me again. Since it's combat mechanic is completely different.
then I get sick of the grind and over priced cashshop and I havn't have the feeling since.
If it's not broken, you are not innovating.
Already a thread for this.
