Optimization getting better...

RoybeRoybe Member UncommonPosts: 420

I was watching my frame rates and GPU utilization numbers today and saw a doubling of my frame rates and a decent jump in % utilization.  I was generally seeing 15-20 fps (depending on onscreen activity) in all the BWE's, but in these last 2 stress tests actually saw 30-40 regularly.  My GPU usage % was around 40%.  I am wondering if anyone is seeing better or worse performance increases. To help in the discussion I'd suggest putting up a basic computer description:

Q8400

8 Gigs of RAM

Nvidia GeForce 560

I'm hoping that my Frame rates and utilization will be similar to D3...80% utilization with 60 fps.

    Geforce 9800 GT

    Dual-Core 3.1 GHz

    4gigs DDR3

Barely playable on lowest graphics settings before BWE3 with 10 or less fps when there were more than about 10 people fighting at once; cities were about 10-15 or so fps.

During BWE3 I was at about 20-30fps average with 20 or so people doing one DE; 30-40 when there were fewer people. Cities were on average about 20-25fps. Not ideal, but a definite improvement. I could also turn up a few of the graphics settings with no noticable hit to fps whereas everything to be as low as possible before BWE3.

My older rig which acts as a second, Lan-Party machine is the same as yours, with GTX9800 + Core2Duo @ 2.8 overclocked at 3.4 + 4gb DDR2 Ram.

Nice to see the game is playable so i could maybe squeez my gf to play along with me, side by side :)

Last stress tests had the best performance for me so far. I never had big problems in the BWE3, but now it is even smoother and better at all maxxed out.

    I have a i5 2500K and a Geforce GTX 560 Ti.

my main rig is about the same only with GTX580. I hope it will run smooth at maxed graphics.

Same here, my pc is pretty old and I was getting 15-20 fps during the BWEs with mixed settings (medium-high FXAA-on). During the last 2 stress tests I got up to 50 fps and I finally managed to play WvW at 20-25 fps when I couldn't even get past 10 before.

    My setup:

    Processor: Core 2 Duo E6000 2.4Ghz

    RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX 800Mhz

    Graphics: ASUS GTS450 1GB

the fact that I was able to get 50fps with this setup is amazing :)

I'm upgrading tomorrow though so it's gonna be even better
