How does the PVP work in terms of you choosing a build ?

in Guild Wars 2

I understand you get buffed up to max level and get al lthe max level skills for your profession to play with in pvp, but how does the mechanic work in terms of allowing players to produce a build to pvp ?

Do you have to make specific pvp builds before signing up for sPVP and/or WVWVW which you then choose from for a given match, or do you have a certain amount of time before a match starts in which to make your build ?

    You goto the "heart of the mists" which is a zone which acts as a lobby for all SPvP. While in the mists you can change your weapon, armor, runes, sigils, skills, traits etc at no cost

    There are also areas for you to test your build

    Once you have your build how you like it you can join a match

    There are also vendors there which sell PvP only items and vendors for PvP rewards.

    When you leave and go back to PvE your build resets to the PvE build you were using before entering the mists.

    there is an area in the world with training dummy type of things and stuff where your character has all of his/her pvp abilities and items.

    in that area you can change your talents, items, skills, runes, sigils, etc.. out and that is what they will be set to when you join a game.

    the WvW area just uses your PVE build and equipment.

     You can change your traits, skills and all that between matches, there's enough time for that, but you're stuck with the equipment you brought in.

    Though, hmm... I suppose you could bring along multiple sets of equipment for various purposes... don't see why that wouldn't work.

    So WvWvW you still get buffed to the same level in terms of damage/heals etc but you may use only the range of  "skills" etc  you have unlocked via pve ?

    You can unlock skills in WvW too. You can fully level in WvW if you want.

    Are we expecting WvWvW to be a reasonably efficient way to level vs pve leveling with the added bonus (fpor those who like PVP) to help you develop your GW2 pvp skills at the same time ?

    It is definitely effective to level in WvW, I had a guildy who leveled completely off of WvW world from BWE3 to the different stress tests. He is level 30+ ATM. For myself, I've leveled 10 levels just from WvW through the stress tests (not even BWE3).
