Looking for a new game~

bikuusoupbikuusoup Member Posts: 1

Preferably a fantasy mmorpg. And free.

I don't care what the style is. 2d, 3d, anime, side scroller, realstic graphics. Doesn't matter. I just want something fun, with a good story, good quests, etc. Preferably not a lot ov PVP. I'm looking for something entertaining to play with my boyfriend when we get bored. Something that will suck me in and keep my entertained. I'm tired of everything being a shiny, pretty grindfest. I'm so boooored~

I can not, however, play newer things like Age of Conan, TERA, The Secret World(wantwantwant), etc. Unfortunately, I do not have the greatest graphics card yet, but I can run most things. Just nothing of the newer, higher end variety.

Please help meeee~

I keep downloading and trying things, but none of them are sticking to me. So really, just tell me what you would personally recommend to someone~

I've always found Mabinogi to have an interesting story, I've actually cared about its outcome and the lives of the characters in it. It isn't very grindy, you try to hit 50 every 3 weeks and rebirth back down to 1, you can get to 50 in one week if you try, but yeah...getting their in 3 is simple enough to do. The game has many life skills to learn, you can make clothes, armor weapons (making em' special colors and with increased stats/durability can make you money when you become a higher rank) you will develop a name for yourself if you go the extra mile and become a Rank 1 Blacksmith, or Enchanter, people will come to you to make the things they want.

You don't need to grind for that epic armor, their isn't any. There are "higher tier" armor sets that give some boosts, but not in the very least going to help you live (except, slightly, some of the really higher up heavy armor, that you can craft/buy for a decent price) any longer than before, everyone dies pretty quickly, my friends been using the same armor from ever since he has gotten serious 2 years ago and has only just upgraded his weapon recently to a newer one.

The game is classes less, so you can never really run out of things to do.

Hope I was able to help ^^ Good luck

My wife and I occasionally play Spiral Knights, was fairly entertaining. She was able to run it fairly well on her laptop. Not a whole lot of story, but the gameplay is good.

A ton of older MMOs have gone F2P over the last year or so, which are easy on lower end PCs. Probably too many to list but depending on what type of MMO you enjoy:

    Comic Book:

    Champions Online

    DC Universe

    High Fantasy:

    Everquest

    Everquest2

    Runes of Magic

Although if you really want something fun to play with your BF thats fun, with good story, no real PvP, why not look into playing co-op games instead of MMO? I've recently been replaying Dungeon Siege 1 and Dungeon Siege 2 and I remember playing co-op with my cousin and how much fun we used to have playing those games. While not F2P there's lots of these older fantasy RPGs that are network or internet co-op that you can probably pick up for ~$5.

For a relatively easy one to get into without too much forced PvP, you might consider Dungeon Fighters Online. Doesn't necessarily have an awesome story, but it's fun for quick bursts.

    Where's the any key?

I always found Shaiya had entertaining quests (20% were "find x animal hides" or "kill x goblins"), PVP is not forced, and it is very good looking. I'll give you the pros and cons:

    PROS

    • Gameplay
    • Casting Animations
    • Easy Learning Curve
    • Clear Quests
    • PvP for all levels
    • Casual & Hardcore Friendly
    • FREE!
    CONS
    • One Server (may be fixed)
    • Stats assigning (may be fixed)

I say may be fixed since it's been a long time since I played, since my computer died when I had it, my laptop couldn't handle it, but now I have a new gamer's computer and am installing it as we speak.
