Client update

Just opened my GW2 client and found a 11,750ish file update on it...

Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My Brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails and we forsake all bonds of fellowship! But it is not this day! An hour of wolfs and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you STAND MEN OF THE WEST! - King Elessar (Aragorn) at the Battle of the Black Gate.

Maybe. But it could be just a regular game update. According to ArenaNet on twitter, the current client will not have to be uninstalled in order to run the release build at headstart. Anotherwords the client we are using  is the actual build and will update as they patch things.

I am pleased as I dont want to redownload the entire thing again since I bought digital.

Was thinking the same. Tiem to fire up the launcher let it update and wait for the stress-test announce on FB ;)

    [EDIT]

Get this message on the launcher:

"We've detected that your computer is using a graphics driver with known issues. Continueing to play may result in side effects, such  as reduced client performance, visual artifacts, and crashes. Please refer to out support forums for the latest supported driver versions."

Nice that they scan for it, but I am using the latest (301) nVidia drivers atm...

Supposedly nVidia is releasing updated drivers optimized for GW2 later this week, so my guess is we will see a stress test then to allow for testing and feedkback on performance.

I know why, it's because you dont have that feeling at all.

You do however (always) feel a strong urge to post stuff, usually totally random things, just to up your post count.

    But hey, I'll take Thursday..

    Hello.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention today.

The message you have reported seeing on the Guild Wars 2 Launcher is due to the driver detection tool in Guild Wars 2. You received this message due to confirmed issues with 301.42 Nvidia driver.

What we have found is that the beta revision 304.79 resolves this issue for Guild Wars 2. However, as we do not normally recommend the use of beta revisions, you should use these drivers at your own risk. While these drivers should resolve this issue in Guild Wars 2, they are still in beta form and it could affect other games as well. If you would like to use these drivers, you can find them here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/beta-legacy

Just select your card type, model number and finally your operating system. You will then be presented with the "Beta 304.79" drivers to download.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any additional issues, questions or concerns.

I launched my client today looking to patch and I got an error message that my drivers was not compatible with the current client and I should go to the support forum for information pertaining to the prefered driver version. My question is where do I find said forum?

I hate that these patches keep coming but the game is still at 16gb ish.

I want a huge patch that'll take me to 25gb just for the sake of it :P

Matheusor1 it's because it's replacing code instead of adding code

he may be referring to GW2 requiring min of 25gig for retail -- beta client may be missing quite a bit still
