I was very happy to find a online game i could just be a simple Farm girl, only to find it in RV. But as i read on i don't see how i will be able to live in this game. 1st how is a farmer to care of themselfs and farms? you can be killed, im a farmer not a fighter. Your stuff like farm and home can be burned down. And what can i do about it im a farmer after all. I really don't think thay were thinking about the little ppl here. After reading on there web site im not sure i could play the game knowing all the time i put into it can be taken away by a dumb kid in a bad mode

Well missy, you needed to read more before you got a somewhat worried.....firstly, best to join a Roman Merchandile guild or whatever they are called. That way you are in alliance with all roman guilds. That means that if someone does attack you or your NPCs or anything of yours, he will be put on the wanted list, untill he is killed by one of the players/NPCs of your guild alliance.
Secondly, did you know you can hire NPC guards?
Three, the game offers sort of safe zones (like roman cities), sort of......it means death to kill someone in lets say rome, like if you start a fight with someone then guards will come and kill you before the end of the fight can be reached. I don't know if this applies to outside the cities but I think NPC guards are enough really. And make sure you are in a Merchandile guild!

Unfortunately, yeah, you probably can be killed at just about any time for just about any reason outside of the major roman cities. However that is a more true to life design, and they way they are implimenting the guild protection does appear as if killing people who are part of a community will end up being non-profitable.
Since players have to pay real money for their in game items, or work their ass off trying to get them. Powergamers will either be rich or foolish to hack away at everybody they see, putting themselves onto endlist wanted lists. If they are rich and supporting the game through their constant item loss, I believe most people won't have a problem dying to them as they are supporting the game financially. If they are foolish, well they probably won't be around too long anyway.
Redbedlam seems to be developing the PvP to be similar to that which was found in Ultima Online in the first year with some improvements to prevent arbitrary random killing for no good reason. Certainly if I just paid $20 to outfit myself with top notch stuff so I can hold my own against barbarians or soldiers, I wouldn't want to get accidentally wasted by a guild of merchents.
However the smart player may move towards extortion instead of random slaying. Certainly more profitable. If merchants didn't wish to be killed, a tribute could certainly be offered.
Ok I just looked at the new show HBO has going on now called Rome and i have to say i don't think i could have made it back then or even now in this game lol life was hella hard.And it is cool there making it as real as can be but come on ppl this is a game and it's is to be funis it not? Where is the fun in paying for a game,putting real money in it to make yourself better and get the things you need, liveing as a simple farm girl only to have the other type of Farmer come to you place kill you take all your stuff on you, the stuff in your house and maybe take or kill your livestock? Where is the fun in that for me. I going to tell you whats going to happen ppl are going to give up and not play there are lots of games out there, the sad thing is this would be a real good game but as much as i would love to play it i can't see putting not only money in it but time all my time to have it taken away by some bad azz kids and whos to say if i start over the will not come ever week to do this over and over thats not a fun game

It is based on a lot of realism, but hasn't excluded the fun. There is probably no way that what you are saying will happen unless you play solo in this game. This game is not for solo players, but depends a lot on whether or not, you work with the community. If not, you will find it too difficult to progress your chacter in the game.
Trinity, what I recommend you do, is start talking on the forums "http://www.roma-victor.com/community/bb/" to find out more detailed information and discuss your concerns, because you really need to learn a lot more about this game.
Your main solution, is plain and simple, just join a guild (Preferably a Roman Merchandile type Guild - they specialise in trade), and your worries are over!
I did go over and ask some ?s got alot of info ty. It may not be so hard after all
