is there an unofficial RP server?

(see title, just an innocent question.)
i have the game preordered and looking forward to it but i have noticed in my MMOings tht my favourite experiences have been on RP servers (landroval in LOTRO. FV in EQ. Farstriders in WoW) and was hoping there would be an unofficial RP server.
I know, for instance that Landroval was an unofficial RP server and then WB turbine made it the acctual official RP server.

laurelin is the old EU official RP server and Landroval is the US unoffical RP server.
Was alittle thrown off by your request about an unoffical RP server, personaly I hope for a official RP server that enforce proper names and a harsh banhammer for those who likes to troll RP servers.

I always find great communities and long term populations.
I know these servers are set up differently though, so anybody can guest over to TC from what I hear. But still, it's nice to have a place to call home be unnofficially named.

Tarnished Coast looks to be shaping up really well. I saw a fair bit of RP even during stress tests.
The fact people would bother to go RP during a 4 hour stress test says there's gotta be some dedicated RPers that'll be playin there.
People RP more.
As this is unofficial, there are no rules stating any differences with a normal server, but you can expect to hear more conversations about in-game stuff. Also if you speak in /say of not in-game stuff (like how cool Anet is, or about WoW or other games etc), you might be mocked, ignored or politely told in whisper about it, depending on who you met.
If you are lucky a wannabe-doctor will try to cure you of your apparent illness.
You can also expect bunch of players, all in fancy clothing, standing about scenic locations of the cities discussing about the latest news of the city or try to run some sort of city council.
Players also can try to pass themselves as city guards and arrest you if you do bad things.
All in all, do keep in mind that most roleplayers follow the Golden Rule of Willing partecipation, so you can always tell one of them that you are here to do something else and they should let you be, unless they are jerks. (Yes, incredibly, jerks appears in all human society, including roleplayers).
Each MMO has its own RP flavor and we will see what GW2's flavor is going to be. As the world is much more alive and reactive to the player, this means RP tactics will have to change accordingly.

to the guy who asked what goes on differently, people RP more and (this is the main thing) people participate in the community in a positive way more. If you'd like a good idea of what i'm talking about though ... if your game has both a pvp and a rp server, logon to both of them for an hour and you'll see the difference rightquick!

I keep hearing about this MMORPG.com guild but have never seen it. Do they have a guild thread somewhere? I feel like I must be blind that I haven't found it by now.
