looks like every monthly update they are going to give a 3 days trial + 1200 funcom points if you complete 30 missions.
a really clever Idea, I agree with then that the game can grab new players if people give it a chance to get things going.
I hope they can get more advertisement for this game, I love it and the growth potential is amazing.
The idea is good, the execution poor and dumb. Plain dumb.
3 Days? How much time of it will be left once you downloaded the client? 1?
Then 1 maybe two evenings time to rush things?
The 3 days only work for the hardcore who sink 14 hours a day in, but those don't need the 3 day trial. The rest will just say F* it and move on.
Well at least it's not one day anymore. (And don't get me startet about how ridiculous it's to ask players to create multiple trial accounts, one for the client download, one for the first zone to try out, one for the other faction?)
It's like EA and Funcom don't want people to try out their game. Those super, tiny windows only work when you have something special, but well known, with a status attached.
TSW neither has the hype, nor the special thing, and it's about as well known as the f2p korean browser mmo just released today among 30 others.
WARs and AOC biggest issue with the lack of new players (besides their quality) was: there have been no suffice trial posibilities, well some do not learn.
With CS:GO and GW2 coming next WEEK why should we care?
If they wanted me to try their game for free they should have done so shortly after launch. Though yes this is an MMO that has gotten a trial not too long after launch... in my mind that translates to they are having trouble keeping players.
In short... no thanks.

Fixed the error for you.
Fair enough.

It is a good idea,i feel all developers should show confidence in their product and let people try it first.I mean geesh we can test drive a 100k car surely we can test drive 50 dollar games lol.
Only bummer is less than 3mb/sec download.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Meh
I was one of those who sank 14 hours into the game and finished the first main story. Bugs me that I didn't get those 2 days extra or I would have finished Blue Mountain too.
Makes me wonder why they punish me for showing an interest in this game on their first trial.
Well... Funcom logic
You could .. you know ... buy it?
3 days, 5 if you do 30 missions. and you'll have 1 day left after downloading the client? Are you living in the dark ages or something? I had the client downloaded in a couple of hours. And you can't find a few hours a day to sink into a trial? Really? Let's say you pick it up on a Friday, download it overnight, start on Saturday, play through until Sunday. Now, unless you have an odd job, you're probably going to have a fair amount of time to spend on those two days.
So really, if you have a serious issue to bring up then sure, go ahead, let's hear it, but if you're so unhappy that the game isn't free to play and you have to squeeze a couple of hours in around your oh so busy schedule to try this out, despite being given up to 5 days to play it, then.. well, boo hoo for you.
50€ box price + 13€ monthly fee... less than 2 weeks before the gw2 release?
No.. just.. No
So why are you here? just to troll?
Don't forget the cash shop. Triple dippin. Gotta grab those monies while they can.
Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.
Woe to thee, the pierce-ed.
I can answer that....yes.
He is not trolling just pointing out how overpriced the game is for what you get back.
Yes I am totally trolling for saying I don't understand why I get less testing time because I showed an immediate interest in this game, compared to people who didn't.
Well numbers speak for itself - and by that I am refering to the Funcom shares.
The game would have been a big success as B2P but some companies didn't learn their lesson yet from watching swtor burning.
You first download the client. Then patch the game.
Your 3 days start from your first time login... (its the same as the last trail TSW had)
and if you do 30 missions you get 2 more days...
Having trouble getting players in due to small budget which seems to be put all in to the game.
Sidenote - @ post above. It should be becoming more and more clear that, what has been stated many times, EA partners ONLY ships boxes. They don't even advertise it seems. There's next to no advertising outside of gaming forums.
As I've said before, Funcom is small fish turned small corporation, competing in an industry ocean, of Acti-Blizz, EA, and NCsoft/Nexom whales. Hear, hear to the little guy!
Sweet!

I just signed up with the same email, but not the same account name using the page linked in the original post.
That was much what I thought when RIFT started with 4 'free' weekends in a row. But it's still kicking as subscription based game. If Funcom can make their promise of a monthly update, then TSW might have a chance as well to stay subscription based. If not, Oh well, then it's about time for me to download it
