    Great Eir_S,

If I can give you any advice,

    1. Slow down. Look around. Don't rush.

    2. Be prepared to need to learn. There is a learning cure. Don't worry about making a wrong choice early on. You can't  lose all your abilities and skills will add up.

    3.  Group with people if you have trouble. They will be all around.

I like the game, it is different, and they put a lot of time into the visuals/stories of the game.  I think it is one of the more unique and quality games in 5-7 years.  They had some chat/group bugs, I haven't been hit with them lately, but not sure if they are 100% gone or not, since they haven't hit me, I haven't looked into it.

I have had quests get a little bugged, when grouped, but 95%+ of the time, it's good.  Think they fixed a lot of those problems last patch it seemed.

The only problem I have is that I have played through all the zones, but I play MMOs a lot, so I am one of the people that the companies hate, I go through content pretty quickly.  So it has the same problem any quest based game is going to have.  I could of unsubbed and waited on a big patch, but I think they did a great job on what I played, so I will stay subbed while they throw out more content.  I also bought GW2, so I will be going back and forth.  Carrying 1 sub game, and one free game is fine.

I hope they can add enough content, quick enough to keep people playing.  I think I read they have another zone in the works, a New York raid, and some other stuff.  I think the game is worth it, I got it for like $35 digitally...Best mmo buy I have made in a long time.

They're riding the storm (much of their own making with the unrealistic sales projection) and doing what they can to get people to try their game. Many of which are unwilling to do so without paying.

I kind of mentioned the answer to your questions. They have big competition coming up and many don't want to pay for it. What are they supposed to do? f2p.

If it went f2p, I would probably stop playing it, as most f2p games seem to be p2w or annoying with limitations.

if it went "f2p" nothing would change for sunscribers, and "free" players would have to pay for anything useful, like dungeons and advanced abilities, and even maybe for access to the second and third areas and their missions.

"f2p" is merely a catchy term for "limited trial"

If I were Funcom I would start doing B2P in a few months (with bonus points each month for lifetime subs) if they keep bleeding subs (meaning, many didnt sub after first month, at least some will leave because of GW2, WoW MoP, Rift's expanision, and Neverwinter coming up the next few months---just a matter of how many will stop subbing.). B2P won't give them future capital, but a sub based model for this game wasnt going to give much capital seeing that it a niche game anyway. B2P might sell them 1-2 million games after being out a year or two. F2P would just be stupid, imho, unless they revamp the CS and start selling this that more players would want to buy.

That's not really gonna happen.  not anytime soon, as that would alienate a lot of their playerbase.

they could do it in a way that F2P gives you the MOST BASIC access, B2P gives you some more, and the subs give you all.

They still have a 15$ sub on AO.

F2P would mean players (not under subscription) would have to pay for access to dungeons, would only be able to play in Solomon Island and would need to pay to play the other ares, would need to pay for access to elites, NM and the raid, separatedly.  Would be able to do PvP but would need to pay to be able of gaining pvp tokens...  Some missions would require payment...  The content added each issue would have to be bought...

No need to add anything in the Cash Shop, they have an unused area for services, where all those access purchases would be included.  And this acesse passes would be for a limited time or number of uses, other than general access to new zones.   that's how "f2p2 would work.

Edit. you would also have to pay to unlock the deeper rings of the ability wheel, likely only having the inner wheel for "free", and possibly the same would happen with skills.

3 Days? How much time of it will be left once you downloaded the client? 1?
Then 1 maybe two evenings time to rush things?

You first download the client. Then patch the game.

Your 3 days start from your first time login... (its the same as the last trail TSW had)

and if you do 30 missions you get 2 more days...

Just to add some confirmation from twitter that it does indeed start on log in and not sign up:

@funcom_tsw @Jevosc Just log in with your new trial account to play! Your 3 days will start the first time you log into the game.

BTW, the game doesn't let you log in until after the game is all patched up and ready to play.

I love how you guys jump on me for stating my mind that the game is nice but I won't pay the box price or a sub.

    @bcbully

The part of "play the way you want". I can't fully agree on that.

During the first beta weekend I picked Blood Magic as first "weapon". The tl;dr version is that I was using single target DoT spells against groups of 3-5 zombies. Poisoning them one by one and running from them until they would drop.

Bigger monsters would take ages for me to kill - if I was able to kill them at all.

During the event weekend however I picked the rifle. This weapon allowed me to easily kill groups of zombies with the AoE and I was able to solo the first main story by the rifle's selfheal skills despite being undergeared.

Alternatively there's the link for that guy whose built makes him almost unbeatable in pvp which was posted here today:

Having said this I point out again that people starting jumping at me because I am dissappointed I wasn't rewarded the 2 days extra despite having done about 50 missions the first weekend.

Now go ahead and flame if you feel you need to.

My comment has nothing to do with any of that..merely that you feel Funcom is  punishing you by offering a 3 day trial. There were no guaranteed number of days for betas. You may have gotten a weekend or they may have sent you something after it started leaving you 1-2 days of play depending on the download time. Everyone I know was told to download before the weekend even started to avoid waiting.. I was lucky enough to get an ongoing beta. Well..not luck..I pre-purchased.

How was it that you were only allowed a day to play? Then maybe I'll understand to what you are referring.

The point is I used their first kind offer. I played the game - I enjoyed it. I felt one or two more days would have been enough time to test the Blue Mountain area too.

So I am wondering why I as someone who was instantly interested in this game,  get's less testing time than someone who didn't care until now.

Giving me those 2 days now since I already got the 30 mission achievement before seems fair.  Not giving them to me because I already did this before others did, doesn't.

Simple, because the offer wasn't available back then. You could just create a new account to take advantage of this offer if you wanted to.

It's just like asking when they did the first offer of 1200 points for completing 30 missions for their first month, to give me the points since I've already done more than 30 missions, or asking for your money back when there's a steam sale because you sometime in the past bought the game at full price. You just used the offer that was available back then, this is the offer that's available right now, and they really have nothing to do with each other.

So I should bother to download this niche game just to try it out in 3 days? I'm not even going to bother downloading that for 3 days, even more to the point that I can't even play every evening. So I'll probably get like 2-3 hours tops? Yeah, that'll convince me the game's worth buying... 3 hours of gameplay vs. a month of reading on forums how game isn't worth the money plus it has a cash shop. ;)

Thank you, but no thanks funcom.

And lots of people don't have access to such a broad band. Here in Venezuela, where I live, I only have access to two kinds of internet speeds, dial up or 1024k DSL (that rarely breaks the 80 KB/sec limit when it should be 128 KB/sec). When the game came out it took me two full days downloading to get the game.

So really, his compaint is limited to special circumstances. For the bulk of the world the download speed isn't an issue. Wouldn't you agree?

    95% of world = Broadband

    5% = no as fast

(numbers are for example only, not facts)

Im amaized at how many people think everyone has high speed internet and 24/7 electricity and $$$ ect...

For those who seemed shocked by this I exhort you to read a bit about other parts of the world, maybe visit them. There are more people outside of where you live. You don't have to know everything about everywhere but at least don't assume that because you have it others do.

Why were you using single target DoT's instead of Chain attacks?  Just as the assault rifle has an area attack in the inner wheel, blood has a chain one that does more damage than the AR one and  puts a doT on them, on top of that.  if they die while that Dot is active they do AoE damge to nearbi mobs, too.   For bigger mobs Blood has 2 attacks that do more damaga one, and the other if first you use the regular builder, does a LOT more damage than the AR finishers.

Right there you have very powerful options fro multiple enemies and single target ones in blood, far from what you describe.

Besides that, several bugs in several abilities, which made that AR build and several others to do more damage than intended were fixed before early access and didn't made it live.

OK. Makes sense. I can see how you feel somewhat penalized. I guess I'm just used to it. SWTOR tried the same thing with a 30day offer .  Its just get the customer at all cost these days...unless you're already a customer. Guess they figure they already have you so why bother. I could by a whopper today then tomorrow they may be on sale for 99 cents but they surely won't give me 3 bucks back.(or however much the difference).

TBH...I never felt "punished" by any of it but I did get tired of the nature of MMORPGS these days. I stopped playing TSW and all the others  and sticking with online FPS games for now. I know better where I stand where the outcome is either win or lose and not whether I get that 1% gear drop I need without a hastle or fighting between 3 other players for it..just to have to upgrade it in the next dungeon/raid/expansion/whatever.. Now I just shoot them in the face or get shot in the face. No debate.lol.
