Any F2P MMORPG that requires any purchase to access it or its future content, expansions, patches doesn't belong here.
This thread is only for released MMORPG's discussion.
As you know most themepark MMORPG's require frequent content updates so thats one of the main things I would look for in a themepark F2P MMORPG. I'm more into sandbox though.
From my experience, the bigger the community, population and market the game has the more updates it receives, which means brighter future ahead.
A lot of older F2P MMORPG's out there been exposed to excessive botting or any other expoits so this also plays a big role.
The reason I brought this topic is because I like to be busy progressing a character in a secondary F2P MMORPG while I wait on content on my primary MMORPG. I do not want to pay for multiple MMORPG's at the same time and I'm curious to find out which truly F2P MMORPG is the best possible choice.
I just start doing research on the latest, most popular truly F2P MMORPG's and I'll replay here later on about my findings.
P.S: Many here will say there is no such thing as a good truly F2P MMORPG, but actually there are that tend to be "Pay to Win", but that would be great if I want to enjoy a truly F2P MMORPG with all of its content as a side MMORPG.

FTP Sandbox?
Wurm Online is probably the sandiest sandbox out there:
http://www.wurmonline.com/
I mean this is THE sandbox. Those people that 'think' they like sandbox.. but really like sandbox/themepark hybrid, will not like this game.
Other games to look at are:
Silkroad,Runes of Magic.I will have to think hard to think of any TRUE f2p game.
These two i mentioned are free to download and free to play. There are more but mind is on food right now lol.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I would say Uncharted Waters Online. It has some great systems in place. Things that do not appeal to me about UWO: art style, music, controls, quest stories, and setting. But these are all subject to personal preference so I'd recommend this game to see if its something you'd enjoy.
Too bad the graphics are some of the worst 3d graphics I've seen in a MMORPG and only reason why I could never get into it.

I'll reply with these as well since you might miss the edit in my post.
Other games to look at are:
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
"Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre
If we're including lobby games then I'll add Rusty Hearts and Dungeon Fighter Online. Both are fun for a quick beat down.
RIP Orc Choppa
All korean grinders fall under this. It really all depends on how well you can cope with the items that are available in the cash shop.
I would include SD Gundam Fighter too.
Eh not runes of magic f2p ? I think you really mean f2p/p2w hell most of the stuff thats actually interesting in there you can't do unless you pay LOL
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Just a few good ones that I think are good anyways.
Champions online
Star Trek Online
Perfect World Online
Forsaken World Online
Dungeons and dragons online
Lord of the Rings online
Aion
Lineage 2
Mabinogi
And I could go on but will leave it at that.

Sorry but Wurm ... "Creating an account is free and you can play free of charge for an unlimited amount of time* with restricted abilities." That's more like P2W IMO.
Ones I've played and didn't uninstall:
Grand Fantasia
Aika
Runes of Magic
Age of Conan
Shaiya
Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine
I'm not aware of any content gating in these. Cash shop gear and consumables in most.
edit: kant spel
I've been hooked up with DC Universe Online and been enjoying it a lot. DLC this month are 50% off. It only cost me $5 to enjoy the game and its premium (F2P) model is awesome.
I'll save a lot more compared to upcoming games like GW2 that cost $60 or MOP with monthly subs .
I agree. I played a bit of DCUO earlier this year. I have not spent a cent though. Quite enjoyable combat, and you can go on mission (instanced dungeon) pretty earlier. I also like the staged quests in instances .. feel a little more involved than the "go in and kill the boss" type wow dungeons.
Eve.
And Vanguard.
And Fallen Earth.
No F2P MMORPG has as much content and depth as Ragnarok Online.
Im actually suprised that it wasnt mentioned as its one of the pillars of the mmorpg genre!
If you have to play an MMO without paying a dime, then Aion basically gives you everything except cosmetics and boosts at no cost.
Otherwise, expect to be disappointed. It just so turns out that developers have to spend money to make any video game since the industry isn't a charity. All 'F2P' means is that there is no barrier to entry. It doesn't mean the game is obligated to give you every shred of content for absolutely nothing.
Uhh one of my top favourite F2P games is Perfect World International.
BEWARE: The cash shop IS PAY TO WIN. Basically you can buy all materials to get uber 1-shotting gear and then just talk to NPC and then the NPC will trade you the gear. Sure you COULD get the gear without cashshopping but for that you'd need to finish about 300,000 quests. True story.
It is really quite fun to play once you get past the P2W cs. It has nice graphics, nice progression from 1-60, after which level curve greatly increases. Lots of quest grinding, kill x mobs etc etc. Open world PvP and dueling system. Open world raids, territory wars (basically fights between guilds), flying and underwater combat, pets, mounts all that neat stuff in current MMOs.
Give it a try but if you plan on PvPing, roll a Assassin and cash shop ALOT.
