I took a couple screenshots of the new aux weapon stuff on TestLive.
Each ability costs 50 AP. You have to do a quest for Council of Venice to unlock the 8th active/passive slot (not on TestLive yet). You can only use aux active/passives in the 8th slot.
Rocket Launcher abilities (couldn't get cooldowns since I can't open the slot without the quest):
Pop Shot (Active) TAoE Affects up to 5 enemies in a 5 meter radius around your target. Deals 239 physical damage.
Rangefinder (Passive) Increase range of all Rocket Launcher abilities by 5 meters.
Clusterstruck (Active) GTAoE: Affects up to 5 enemies in a 5 meter radius around target point. Deals 368 physical damage.
Rocket Science (Passive) Reduces recharge time of Rocket Launcher abilities by 50%.
Death from Above (Active) You rocket leap 15 meters forward hitting up to 5 enemies in a 5 meter radius where you take off and where you land, dealing 216 physical damage. Deals 9% of your maximum health to you when activated.
Warhead (Passive) Increases damage dealt by Rocket Launcher abilities by 15%
Big Red Button (Active) TAoE: Affects up to 5 enemies in a 5 meter radius around your target. Deals 497 physical damage.
couple nice hairs but faces are all more of the same:( oh well was hoping for a revamp like they said but looks like just more of the same.
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
Originally posted by Celcius Yep, still no raids. Hopefully the game adds real content soon otherwise they won't be able to keep up with the competition. A new version of the same dungeon and a few new missions is not new content. A new weapon is kinda nice though, but people who play the game enough will unlock all of the abilities associated with it immedietly with all the AP they have stockpiled.

I can assure you my hat is perfectly safe. Just to clarify, new missions not being new content is not exactly what i meant. I should have said something else, but none the less what I mean by "not new content" is that they really are not adding any amount of compelling new content to keep people paying 15$ on a monthly basis. I personally (as well as many others) are not willing to pay 15$ a month for a day worth of new missions. Yes, barber shop is nice --fluff stuff is always good-- but that is not what most people expect out of content patches. Instead of touting "content patch every month!". they should maybe have said every 2 months and made bigger patches. New weapon is good though, that is sorta like new content. Atleast it adds a little more value to the game. When I talk about new content and what I want to see, as most people want to see this too and expect it with a "content" patch is: new stuff. New dungeons, new raids, new zones, new gameplay features, ect. Those are all things worthy of an actual content patch.
At this point SWTOR had added a new flashpoint and 4 bosses to a raid zone. That may not be much, but it is much more then a few missions.

You know, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, and your opinion is quite vailid. If you feel they are not adding any compelling new content worth $15 a month, no one will force you to stay and pay the subscription fee.
But do not assume even for a moment that what you expect out of content patches is what most people expect as well.
I, for one, and all my friends playing TSW at the moment, are very pleased with the content additions so far, and we're looking forward to seeing this game evolve and get even better in the future.
And honestly, $15 a month is such a negligible amount of money for this kind of entertainment that I feel people concerned about getting their money's worth should really be looking into B2P or F2P titles instead.

I get you. Yeah, there are people who are cool with just a little more content each month. And no, I am not one of those people. The thing is that even though you claim as if that most people don't expect more out of a P2P game these days, the declining number of sub based games, subs themselves in all sub based games (even WoW), and the increasing number of F2P titles says otherwise. I just don't think that these numbers are dropping just because the quality of the games are dropping. There are obviously some great sub based games out there, but the fact is that they are becoming few and far between. Content consumption is one of the biggest contributing factors to this problem. If someone sees that a free to play game is offering more content at the cost of having to shell out less, or no money at all, then they will not think twice about which game to play. No sub means alot right now, but even in the free to play market there is alot of competition.
Not to mention that just because the game offers "higher quality content" POTENTIALLY then some free to play games, the content still has to be compelling enough to keep people playing. Its not a matter of "just enough" to get people by. Game developers are competing for something far more valuable then money right now and that is: Time. When you factor both time and money into the equation, and the consumer has a free to play options with more content....the choice becomes clear. Fortunately for Funcom, and players in The Secret World, the game has a rather niche audience. Its modern day setting, Lovecraft,Vampires,Supernatural, ect environment certainly help. The problem is that the game is still too similar to alot of other games out there with its combat system and dungeons. Even though the game has a niche form of visuals and presentation, the gameplay is still like other games. They have to compete with those games. (Most of which are either free or going to be free)

I don't know what this has to do with the TSW announcement. This is a generic discussion better suited for The Pub.
The justification for subscriptions is not based on new monthly content. That certainly hasn't been the case for any sub-based MMO including WOW, EVE, Rift or any other one I can think of. Subscriptions have always been the western MMO financial model way of doing things and F2P (or rather, Crippled until you pay) was an eastern MMO thing. Now that the line is blurred and every conceivable combination of subs and cash shop exists and GW2 decided to make itself virtually indistinguishable in content from AAA sub-based MMOs, the whole idea of subs is being questioned... Fair enough but we all know what TSW's financial model is.
Flog. Horse. Dead.
This thread is about what's coming in the next major patch. Trying to quantify the new additions and dividing them by the monthly sub cost to evaluate its worth is pretty silly.

I'll probably get GW2 and keep also playing TSW, i don't see why it has to be "Either or" when both can give a different kind of experience.FC keeps delivering monthly updates, and those investigation missions are quite cool. The raid seems epic (not for this month) and GW2 seems like fun, why would i deny myself fun? to sustan stupid "my game is better than your game" flamewars? no thanks, i'd rather enjoy games that are fun (for as long as they remain fun) than troll on the forums aginst a game.
They continue to focus on the completely awful repeat dungeons over and over endgame while adding in a bunch of one time only quests in an mmo. They are creatively bankrupt and released a game with pitiful content and truly awful pvp.

Those rocket launcher abilities should be very enjoyable and add fun variety to the comabt system. I played a blade/chaos tank and would have loved to use Death from Above when initiating to lock down aggro (didn't have room for a charge ability on my hotbar).
It's also good to see the dungeon finder making progress, but that was a feature I would've liked to see implemented during beta and the dungeons designed around. Once it goes live you are going to see the nightmare dungeon encounters nerfed in difficulty. Look to Rift's T1/ T2 dungeon transformations after adding the LFG tool for an example. Encounters designed to require specific abilities will become more generic so that 5 average random qualified players can come together and complete them.
