Thief will be my main for sure. Elementalist will be my other main. Then I'll have my Asura Necro and my Charr Warrior (or maybe guardian) as my other other mains. Then I will certainly have a Norn Ranger as my last Main.
I'm noticing that the thief is less popular than it used to be; ANet needs to make it more user-friendly. I'm not one of the big thief fans, but I know a few people who were extremely disappointed.
Anyway, Warrior for me. I might change my mind at the last minute to Guardian, but I don't know.
No dervish = no win for me. I'll wait till they release dervishes to play. Eh I'm just being bitter. Voted ranger cause great sword rangers are awesome

Engineer btw. ... I tried the combination "asura engineer" one weekend because I thought "what combination would you normally never EVER play?" to try out something new. ... boy did I fall in love with the asura and the engineer. It's now my main.
Sylvari Elementalist and Asura Engineer. The ele I had in mind as a main for years but liked the engi so much during bwe's / stresstests that I'm undecided between the 2 now and at first will try to play them equally much. I'm not in a rush anyways as there's so much stuff to do and explore so I don't see the point in sticking to 1 main and only at level cap start rolling alts.

Seconded Asura and engineer are equally awesome.
I predict an overpopulatian of Asura at release of the game, tough i am pretty sure over the long run humans will as allways be the most played race.

Last poll I saw put necros & rangers on the bottom of the interest spectrum. Now ranger looks to be the most popular, with necro being on par w/ most of the other professions. Very interesting, indeed.
During 1st BW I rolled a charr necro and hated it, in fact I was seriously worried the game I had been waiting 5yrs for was not the game for me. However to keep playing with my friends for the weekend I decided to try a human thief and OMG!! it was awesome best fun I have had in an MMO in years.
So BWe2 I developed my thief further and in the last 4hrs of the Beta decided what the hell lets see what a human necro is like and now I am totally sold!! I have now tried every class every race and human Necro was 100% me cant wait to get her started for real.

In every MMO, I have been a ranger
In every RPG i've played, I have been a ranger (Even the D&D Board Game)
In real life, I like archery.
Ranger just seemed to fit for me, and my race will be Charr, for I have always admired them in GW1 and now I finally get to play one.
NOTE: I have not played a ranger or a charr yet because I wanted to keep everything fresh about them. SO I HOPES IT WAS WORTH IT!

Just a month ago, Ranger was trailing far behind Warrior, Elementalist and Guardian.

I hate all caster classes in every game ever yet I found myself loving the Elementalist in GW2 is definitely on my list for an alt.
(Norn) Ranger will be my main.
Sword+Warhorn/Dagger and Shortbow as main weapons (other weapons for fun).
I thought we'd see the typical "Mage/Fighter/Archer" as the top three, but Engineer has thus far topped Elementalist!
Warrior/Ranger are no surprise.
