Not even worth it before they dumb the subscription thats attached to it.
When they dump the sub fee in October and go Premium/Freemium hybrid, this will be viewed as a good idea to grab another chunk of box sales and another month of subscription review before the transition.
Bravo Funcom, devious, but good move.
Still regular price on Steam and everywhere else.
Try harder.......and thank-you for selling the game.
You know, for $25, it's a pretty good price for a month of decent gameplay.
I realize that the combat starts out rather poorly, but it does improve when you have the use of a wider selection of talents around the Blue Mountains. And the game can feel a lot like a single-player game.
There are some memorable characters, some really interesting locations, lore that is well-written, some good mob design, and the investigations are fun.
I'm not sure the game is worth a sub past the first month, but I guess that depends on your playstyle.
"Loading screens" are not "instances".
Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.
This kind of move really makes me loathe a company tbh...
Cutting prices like this so the uniformed are conned into buying the client before they announce the inevitable conversation to F2P is beyond shadey.
I can't give them kudos for attempting to trick the unwary consumer like this. I perosnally have reached the point with this company that, like SOE before them, I will not buy their product anymore. Simply because I do not trust them.
Amazon has been doing this a lot with various games as they are trying to compete with Steam for digitial distribution of games.
Likewise, Steam is going to be offering non-game software trying to keep competitive with Amazon.
But I'm sure Funcom would have to approve this sale on Amazon.
My point still stands.
What point?
Looks like game bashing and misinformation to me.
Only if Amazon is selling stuff they are also getting now from FC. Amazon does this kind of sales on several products and games with regularity.
FC is selling the digital version at normal price, so it's steam, and i think origin too. It's an Amazon move, not a FC one.
That is purely your personal opinion and not a statement of fact. I figured that I would give the three day trial a go although my expectations for anything Funcom were pretty low. I am sad to say that my expectations were completely accurate. From the character creation, which is a joke to the same sound issues which F3 & FNV suffered from when combining creative sound cards with win 7 to the clunky interface and uninspiring combat the game sucks; and that, like yours is my own opinion. I played for a couple of hours and uninstalled.
