Playing the GW2 betas pretty literally killed my mouse.
I was right clicking almost non-stop, and over each beta, by the end of it, my mouse got progressively worse, and now the right mouse button doesn't stick properly.
I don't really blame GW2, my mouse is several years old, and it was basically the final nail in the coffin, but...
... I have a 50 dollar gift certificate for Amazon, and real quick before the game comes out, I'd like to get another mouse. So! Looking for mouse recommendations.
Things important to me: Sturdy, reliable and can take a lot of right-mouse-button abuse. Under 50 bucks. Thinking I'll go with a wired mouse, this time, so a long cord might be important (Because my mouse port is on the back of the computer)
Things not so important to me: Lots and lots of buttons. I don't even use the 4th and 5th button on my current mouse.
If you think you can convince me that I absolutely need a multi-button mouse, that's fine, go ahead and give the rationale for how that'll extremely improve my GW2 experience. As long as the mouse costs around 50 dollars. :P
So! Anyway, looking for good mouse recommendations, with links on Amazon.com (Since it's basically free for me if I get it that way. :P ).
If you can point out a decent keyboard as well and fit it under 60-70 dollars between that and the mouse, hell, I'll replace both, this keyboard is about 10 years old, and I think the ctrl/shift keys are getting a bit wonky. Don't need a gaming keyboard, I'm pretty simple in my tastes. Just don't want an ergonomic keyboard with a split, since that'll make hitting keys 1-10 really annoyingly hard, even when I'm used to stretching my fingers.

but i would go for Logitech they hold up real well
my vote is the g700 way more reliable and sturdy than the naga.. also WAY more comfortable thumb placement imho
oh saw the 50 bucks hmm

Razer Naga Epic...Not the Razer Naga 2012. The 2012 use a cloud system that stores your mouse profiles. It is a great concept in that you can go to a different computer and they are always available, but it does not give you a choice of making them local. Also, the cloud system *Synapse 2.0 can sometimes cause mouse lag.
Edit: Mouse Lag
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Having had one I'd advise against a Naga due to the poor quality of materials used in the construction. Often is known to develop a double click problem.
BTW a keyboard is a keyboard , all that shit with extra frills is just stupid. Those so called gaming keyboards are just a waste of money. A good cheap Microsoft or Logitech will get you a long way.

There are certain customizable keyboards that would legitimately help gaming-wise, otherwise there are differences between a normal keyboard vs a mechanical one and key rollovers.
Not trying to go off topic, but I disagree. The Logitech G13 was almost made for GW2. You don't have to take your eyes off of the screen to look down at your 8 key for example. Of course, I am older and it really helps me.

Razer Deathadder
I honestly think that the deathadder is a very good mouse, and a good reason to have some extra buttons is an easy dodge or heal or whatever button. Mine are actually set to dodge and jump.
My new toy, however, is a Logitech G600. WAY better than the razer naga, but I like bigger mice.
edit: the G13, or the razer nostromo, are both very very good for GW2 (I own the nostromo), but I am hesitent to take it with me to places so I can play on my laptop...mice are just easier to carry around.
I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.
Another vote for Naga.
But the Hex model. The 12 button one is just...too awkward to use most times I found.
Also another vote for the G13. Replaced the less than stellar stick with a rumblepad 2 one and now it's just much more comfortable.
I will have to go against the grain here and recommend NOT getting anything unless it is Logitech. In my experience they are just simply the most durable mice available and for gamers, that's important unless you want to buy a new mouse regularly.
You said "under 50 dollars" and also that you don't care about a lot of extra buttons, so these two would probably both be solid choices:
Logitech G500 -- Laser mouse, $49.99 and qualifies for Amazon Prime
Logitech G400 -- Optical mouse, $34.80 and qualifies for Amazon Prime
For keyboards, I am a big proponent of mechanical keyboards with Cherry switches for gaming. I won't game on anything else if I can help it. Unfortunately for the price range you are specifying that really limits the choices.
Cooler Master Storm Quickfire is actually a solid choice, for only $64.00 (and qualifies for Amazon Prime). The thing with this keyboard is that it does NOT have a numpad. I personally don't see that as an issue at all, seeing as I never use the NumPad for gaming anyway, but It would obviously not be a good choice for someone who also uses their gaming PC for work that involves doing a lot of numerical entry. I don't really know of any other good choices for under your price rangethat still have Cherry switches.
For MMOs the Razer Naga is unbeatable IMO...
having the 1-12 hotbar at your thumb tip is like heaven for me.
the guy says buttona arent important and everyone recommends the one mouse with the most buttons evee created...lol
get a logitech g400. theyre extremely solid, take a ton of abuse and dont require some crazy software overhead to function. nice weight, nice ergonomics
HAI MEOWMEOW! erm...For lotsa buttons umm...Naga for small hands, cyborg MMO for big hands.
If you dont want that many buttons you can get a naga hex for 6 side buttons! :O Its green too! Greeeeeeeeenn~
Im not sure if they sell other colors like molten in amazon..but Im sure they have the hex, cyborg mmo (got it on amazon uk for a friend), and naga
