Guild Wars 2: Stress Test on 8/21 at Noon PDT!

Thanks to user Redemp who posted it on the Guild Wars 2 General Forum, we just learned that ArenaNet will be conducting another stress test for Guild Wars 2 between 12pm PDT and 4pm PDT. Details from the Facebook post follow:

 We will be conducting a stress test tomorrow Tuesday, August 21 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.



We will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity problems or discover featu

res that are not working as designed.



Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch.



By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game. Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game!

Please note:

* The stress test is open to anyone who has pre-purchased Guild Wars 2.

* Characters will not be wiped from the previous Stress Test.

* The Stress Test will include Spanish text localization. ~RB2

    gives me a chance to play with the CC more and get the looks I want so I don't have to worry about it so much at launch

    I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall.     I think Aero just means that it'll be easier to get it right in launch after this stress test.

    Thank god for this stress test, gives me a chance to mess around with an elementalist on WvWvW. Only bad part is ill have to miss the last hour of the stress test cuz i have to go to MMA practice but, just being able to play the game with only a few days before launch is going to be a huge stress reliever

    I gusse I can try to use this to see if I can try to get in to the WVWVW PVP last time I tryed and found is crap just zerg vs zerg.

     

    last test I only liked the PVE

    Because it's a B2P game,

    for BWE 3 they were giving away 50.000 keys right here on this site, guess you didn't really want to try the game.

    and personally I like it that they are not having open beta.

    you don't know if your system can handle it ? no problem go here.

    Im torn because I wanna play it but Im trying to save a lot for release. Ive been fighting the urge to play an Asura because I wanted a whole new zone and starting area for on release. Been hard to fight that urge with so many chances to check it out lol

    I wish Anet opened the servers just for character creation a few days before the headstart, that'd be grand.

     

    But I guess I'll settle for trying to find the perfect look for my Norn Guardian and try to take screens and notes of the sliders!

    Finally I'll get to test out the game before launch. I just pre-purchased the game Saturday. Definitely looking forward to the game. I must find a cool mature-like guild soon. ;)

    He wants to practice making characters so he can do it more efficiently at launch.   I heard their was no reason to rush to end game in GW2 I would think that would include cc.

    Well this and probably the last 3 'stress' tests have more likely been along the lines of 'Keep the game hyped up' tests than anything actually dealing with stress testing. Give people tiny tastes of it over and over but never long enough to get over it and pull in more saies due to the hype they hear. It's a great marketing tactic.

    He still have a point, and Eric did say something about a free weekend before launch 2 years ago but I guess they changed it for some reason. Unless they reveal it during this week but that sounds unlikely.

    But there will most likely be a free trial anyways, GW have one and I am sure they will add one here as well in a few months.

    The stress test are for only people who have already pre-purchased the game months ago. So your theory about "keeping the game hyped up," is incorrect. Plus the fact Arenanet actually does a proper stress test to fix the game, instead of treating it like a demo for people who could give a crap less about making the game better.

    This time I am defo goona try a different class, currently set on Engineer.  I have alway in all MMO's picked a class at the start and stuck with it forever, my WoW hunter is going on 7 year old now.. "must not pick ranger, must not pick ranger"

    Don't waste yout time trying to explain something to people that don't have it in them to understand.
