Hello all.
I used to play Earth and beyond before it got shut down. I totally loved it.
I've been playing WoW now for almost a year and am starting to get tired of it. Its turning out to be all the same. no matter what job/class you are, you have the same places to go to level up, and hours of grinding just to make that 143k exp transition to hit lvl 49.
I was wondering if alot of players still play EVE. i like it when the game world is filled with people.
Any comments from you experts?

Well EVE does not have the subscriber count as WoW but it has only 1 server, which usaully has between 6000 and 16000 players online at once so yeah it's fairly populated.

MMOs Retired From: Earth and Beyond, Project Entropia, There, A Tale in the Desert, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Eve Online, City of Heroes/Villains.
MMOs Currently (worth) Playing: None.
MMO hopefuls: Age of Conan.
There are alot of centralized trading hubs in EVE which usualy house 200-300 people in each system simply because it is convinent and profitable for them to trade there. Most systems in empire space hold on average 30-40 pilots at a time or so. When you get into lower security space it isn't unusual to fly through systems that are empty but since you have open-pvp in 0.0 (which is about 75% of all systems) it is natural that people tend to avoid those regions unless they are in an alliance.

Hey there,
The server has a population between 6k and 16k. A total of aprox 70k Subscribers. Not as much as WoW, but then you dont have kids playing this game either

well the area i'm in usually crowded with people, good and bad :S
I mean its the Osmeden / Orvolle region, it are 2 systems with a solid route to empire on this side, several routes into low security space over on that side and a large (pirate camped) 0.0 section on the other side. its quite full of people and because you can go so many ways its quite a good place to be imho.
Since the Highways collapsed Yulai (the powerfull caldari trade capital which sortof funtioned as a the main trade hub of eve got taken along and 2 other systems took its place a mare few jumps away, routes changed so did the players, and now eve's economy is triving again.
so you see EVE is crowded and filled with activity and that activity is growing by the day.
Unless you are in 0.0 space, you will see people all the time, and tons as you get closer to the 1.0 systems. Out in 0.0 you can travel for 10 systems and not see a single person, which can be good.
Player numbers should not be everything to a game tho. I played Wow too but i couldnt play it for longer than 2 months due to the lack of point to it, and thr horrible community. Not here to bash wow, just saying Eve is better
You cannot really stay alone in 0.0 because of the rule of "not blue -> kill", even on noob.
If you enter a big corporation or an alliance, you may see more people in 0.0 because a lot of them live in 0.0
As said, some major empire hub are sometimes crowded but there's a lot of less secure area where you can stay alone (0.3 or 0.4) and that are not too far from 1.0
You just need to hang around near the current hubs which I think atm are places like Jita, Oursalert, Rens.
There's *always* people around the 1.0 systems with lots of gates.
