The game that got me hooked was DII

I know that's not a real MMORPG or anything, but it was my first RPG online
and I loved it, I liked the idea that I could find items
with the prefix suffix and yellow for rare and gold for unique items
the combinations were awesome
I loved that, then I bought WoW becaues... well the hype about it
i found out the good items get stuck to you and you cannot sell them
i stopped playing
note: im somewhere inbetween a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer
anyways... as I was saying, then I tried EvE online... although I liked the entire idea
I didn't dig that it just seemed like a single player RPG with a chat room attached to it
So i went out and bought Guild wars
to much dismay, it is again a single player RPG with a chat room for when you go into towns

does anyone know of a game preferribly free that has mass amounts of items,
like a prefix suffix type of system that doesnt' have open PvPers ganking everyone at every corner
that has a great community, friendly people and fun game play????
i know this may seem broad but i've read some stuff about other games but I don't seem to like any that i've read so far.
Note: required good graphics, i like cartoonish aka: WoW, ROSE online(never played this one)

any ideas are welcome please help me find an MMORPG I CAN ENJOI!

Only thing I know similar is Dungeon Siege 1 and 2.

EDIT: Note the single player is just until like level 5, when you get around to that level then you'll get into the meaty multiplayer portions. And also they have the items gold/green/purple/etc like you described.

You idiot, he just asked if there were any prefixes to the games and the ones I listed a re pretty much the only ones. ROSE sucks, please don't even try it. It's as bad as any grind game without the fun and doesn't even try to differentiate it from the pack.

Also, there is randomness in the loot tables of Asheron's CAll, not sure about any other game but I'd handily reccomend AC1 as almost any system can handle it and it has monthly updates that actually change the terrain among other things.

And enixryan, just stop talking.. please.. all you ever do is just plug away at that retared gravity game.. just no.

It's more of a single player game. I think En1gma can fill you in more than I can, although it does have an online community, the game is much too easy for some people thus it may or may not have one actively.

aye, Dungeon Siege 2 is really comparable to NWN in terms of online play. It isn't a mmorpg in the sense of the meaning.

However....I played Dungeon Siege 2...it was just like playing the first one; hardly any graphic upgrades at all and the first one was better than the Siege 2.

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

Why do you say that En1g? That it offered a harder difficulty level? From when I played the multiplayer demo on Fileplanet.com I thought it was pretty nifty.. but then again it could've been when I wasn't overpowered and was starting quite weak.. D2 communities have always been good with their mods so if we don't like something, perhaps they can change it.. a bit 'if' however.

EDIT: I'll probably get it once it gets to around 29.99 or so. It will eventually. I are smart cons00mer. Wheeee..

lol, u really are a smart consumer.
but most ppl just dowload it, not wait till the price drops.
i downloaded the first one. and the expansion.

Nah. I prefer to actually buy it to escape all the virus infested internet. Most games require cd-keys now, I just feel more at home with something in material form than digital downloads. Steam is the only exception, Mmm... Steam...
