Dark and Light, will it deliver?

As for now we have Dark and Light coming out any many, many, many wach carfully as the release date arives. So am I, but then I started to think, what new is there in DnL? Shure, bigger wold, more roleplaying, unspeakable nature and so on, the list is long.
As I come to think, aint it all the same? Ive played AO, Guild Wars, SWG, EVE and WoW, and when I think of it, they where "uber" the first year, but then started to fade away and I found a new game. Now for me it is DnL, but I just dont wanna be disaponted and get sick of the game. Aint it all just the same shit in a different wrapping...?

Almost all mmo's are "fantasy" based sword/shield/magic/wand/ect. You quest/kill/gain xp/lvl. This one may offer a new feature not seen anywhere else but it probably wont be anything to "innovate" the fantasy mmo gaming world. So ya it will essentially the same game as EQ2 WoW GW ect. which are just "warped" versions of each other.
If you getting sick of the game try putting them away for a month or two then come back to them, if u havent already tried that it really helps.
As far as I can see this game has so many good ideas in place that haven't been used correctly or haven't been used at all in other mmorpgs. If the dev team delivers on the promises this game will have everything that I could be looking for. As for wow and eq2 they don't even compare the only thing those big companies understand is how to pull in the players that don't even understand the mmorpg industry. WoW is the most successful mmorpg out there but any veteran mmo players that gave it a shot saw that it just wasn't complex enough. It became boring rather quickly.

Silver, DnL does have some features no game has ever had before, whether it will deliver can be only known next month. It can be,as you say, the same shit in a different wrapping but that depends on what you're looking for.
I too was thinking about this. When I first heard about this game and all the features they were promising, I got realy hyped about their ideas. But I have played a few other mmos and they all brag about their features and stuff.
When it comes down to it an rpg is an rpg, there is plenty of different "wrapping" and cool little things you can do to it, but it will always end up feeling somewhat like other games you have played. thats how I found it so far. On the other hand who knows mayb this game will be different. We must wait an see...
