A new announcement has cropped up on The Secret World's site indicating that the release date for Issue #2: Digging Deeper has been pushed back from August 28th to September 11th. The team cites the recent layoffs and the resulting tumultuous week as the causative factor.
As you may know, this week has been a challenging one for everyone at Funcom. We initiated a process of reducing costs after the launch of The Secret World and this has naturally affected the production schedule as we work on readjusting the team and our internal development processes. As such, we have had to give ourselves a little more time to wrap up Issue #2 and the new release date for this update is September 11th, 2012.

Uh oh bcbully is in trouble now lol!
On a serious note, that sucks for TSW players but they don't have to wait too long.
I think and I may be incorrect with this but this is quite possibly the catalyst that these updates go from monthly to quarterly.
Everything you need to know about Elder Scrolls Online
Playing: GW2
Waiting on: TESO
Next Flop: Planetside 2
Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
Ouch...
1 month and 1 week after the first update. While breaking the plan, it's still pretty close though.
Eeh one and a half weeks past the one month point, but some good news would be nice... Here's hoping for the Aug. 28th report.
Well at least they're trying to keep it coming on a regular basis, if they manage to keep this up I might just sub to TSW I enjoyed the 5 day trial a lot,I played with a few friends made it to transylvania and it was a blast trying to figure out the investigation quests together.
this game is one to watch.
Not good, but not the end of the world.
Hopefully SWTOR and TSW will not discourage gaming companies, in the future, from stepping away from the cartoon fantasy setting. I really underestimated gamer's love for cartoon fantasy settings as I thought this game would do better than it has. I read person after person saying the game wasn't for them. And the ones that state that (without any reasons) come across as they don't step outside the fantasy genre. Hopefully devs will continue to try different settings and doing things a bit outside the box in the future even though this undersold and SWTOR had no staying power.
This is unfortunate but not surprising.
"Loading screens" are not "instances".
Your personal efforts to troll any game will not, in fact, impact the success or failure of said game.
Look for Trond Arne Aas to publish his memoirs, Dodging Bullets: Real-life applications of The Matrix trilogy, later this fall.
The smaller team means either the promise of an update per month may be a month and a half or worse or the amount of content per update will go down. That's the problem with promising an update schedule that assumes you will meet sales and sub estimates.
smart move on their part i mean agust 28th= really?
although i dotn play this game. it seems itll have it audience.

Yeah I noticed that as well.. convienent that even if they're able to keep a montly issue update going (doubtful, they couldn't even do it for issue #2) that now they'll be set for post-billing cycle.. well played.
What's there to watch?...You almost beat a MMO in 5 days......All you have to do is look stuff up on the net and investigation quests are done....It was a huge mistake trying to make this game a long term MMO....It was simply better suited as a single player game or a co-op not a MMO.....
You guys are like Negativity Locusts.
You feed off of it and buzz around it.
I don't think this one instance of a delay is the end of the world. In fact, I'm glad they delayed it. There's no way it would have been ready by Tuesday since the Test Live server JUST got 1.2 update back on it this morning.
With the majority of the game probably playing GW2 this weekend, the last thing Funcom needs to do is put out an untested patch.
Also, the timing of the 28th is rough.. Is a busy day for MMOs. From a strategic standpoint, Funcom putting the patch out a little later helps them get the press on an off week, rather than it being flooded with "ZOMG GUILD WARS" and "ZOMG PANDAS!"
Hey TSW Players http://www.unfair.co/ for Mission guides, Lore Locations and stuff....
Something is really wrong if everyone need to lie to push their updates / add-ons of august just because "they feel it's not ready" while everyone knows th truth.
Worst of all, those who are loyal get a slap in the face over nothing. Not even a compensation.
"Oh hi this is funcom, we know we **** the char editor, but don't worry we working hard to make it up soonish.
Oh hi this is funcom, guildwars2 is coming out so we push back further, but don*t worry we working hard to make it up and keep that 1 month shedule! (obviously not counting the months between pushbacks)."
I really feel sorry for the low tier guys and girls putting up their hard work for years just to get *** by management and sales.but...
It's just so much fun watching this, i mean how can some not watch this swtor / tera / TSW trainwreck and not enjoy it?
Funcom is like a centipede and keeps on shooting in their own feet, despite having many it's still fun watching them twist after each shot.
TSW is such a good game, that allows me to read and laugh at fail posts like yours while playing it.
Yeah and i laugh at fail fainboys like you. I know i shouldn't you must have it really hard in life if you can't make out the difference between a post about a dipshit move from funcom and a doom & post about the game TSW itself.
Think he was being sarcastic.
I really don't see why they did that. Two week delay? Don't see the point in the delay as those that are off playing GW2 from TSW will still be playing GW2 (Say at least a month before those that wander back to there other game do so). But then again I guess they want a healthy update release as I would imagine quite a few MMOs will seem like dead on GW2 launch day.
TSW is a good game. FUNCOM ran into a few problems though.
1. Its FUNCOM and they have about as bad a name as $OE. A lot of people didn't give the game the chance it deserved.
2. It is not a game like WoW that caters to the lowest common denominator of Humanity. It is not an easy mode game, You really need half a brain to play.
3. Modern setting. While that is a draw to some people who are tired of fantasy worlds, lets face it, fantasy sells better.
4. Most people either can't think or do not want to think while playing a game and TSW not only demands that you think, you MUST learn to think outside the box to solve a lot of the quests.
