in Guild Wars 2

I was uncertain with the logging in issues about the game, but im in the game and im amazed , very fluid and lots of options.

Usually i know if ill "mould" to a game within 5 minutes play , and this i can give a big 100% thumbs up.

Graphics, sound, animations (all of which are scaleable for your PC) are excellent.

I soon chilled once i was in.

 

Oh i forgot one major complaint that i have with most MMOs of past 2 years ... the UI , SWTOR sucked and so does TSW.

Guild Wars 2 UI is very well designed and great artwork.

    Yeah same, it's pretty smooth now.

    Still my sympathy goes out to people who have log in issues, I can imagine that must be frustrating -- at least I have sympathy for people who aren't nerd-raging on the forums.

    Doesn't matter really, all this will smooth out.  The game is AWESOME :)

    For the past 2 hours.. since the patch the game is working flawlessly for me =] Onlty trading post and HoM rewards to fix =]

    I'm glad the login issues seem to be mosty resolved and I hope any who are still having them are able to get in and play very soon.

    Even for my mediocre system the game runs fairly smooth. Well unless it's a dynamic event with 20+ people, but that's to be expected with a Radeon 5570 graphics card. Even though I had some log-in issues and the servers were down for about 2 hours, I'm enjoying myself. It's a shame that so many people here flipped out.

    Your right but it wasnt starting to look good, im glad they sorted it quick

    I'm sure its a great game but is no one else turned off my the graphics? I watched a youtube video last night considering buying it and quickly decided not to due to cartoony toons. Just cant see myself enjoying leveling up a charcter in GW2 looking the way they do no matter how great the gameplay is.

    What issues were you having with your HoM Rewards?

    My first character didn't get the Portal Stone but you can pick one up for free in Lion's Arch or create another character and it should show up on it (the item is Account Bound).

    I've already set Legacy Armor on enough items to get a Transmutation Acheivement :D

    nope because i can't tell really what's happening in games like SWTOR and Rift who strive to make the graphics for the toons as close to real as possible, when game companies tried to do this they usually get it wrong and make it so stiff that it loses all realistic movements. It's great like it is because even with lots of aoes happening at once i can tell what's happening easier with graphics like this. Not to mention they did it like this so everyone can play.

    Glad to hear things got straightened out and the game is running well.

    I'm sure there are other people who have been turned off by the graphics (I mean besides the obvious Trolls who are turned off by everything).

    The thing is that's a very personal preference. I and many others LOVE the "painterly look" and overall game aesthetics. To me "simulated realism" quickly becomes outdated causing games with that art style to quickly lose their luster. For all my issues with WoW it still has a very clean and distinctive look. Same can be said for the Super Mario series.

    Sorry you find the graphics so unappealing. If it is otherwise the type of game you would enjoy you are missing out on a fantastic game because of it.

    Gfx might not be quite top notch but at least performance is more than acceptable. And everything I tried so far felt great. Heart quests are definitely a step forward from the usual "kill X of Y". DEs are fun and they actually are connected with the story. WvWvW is a huge non-stop PvP battle. Even little things like Vistas are pretty cool to my taste.

    Like the OP I'm also very impressed - haven't seen a game so well designed in years.

    MMORPG genre is dead. Long live MMOCS (Massively Multiplayer Online Cash Shop).

    Was an issue moslty affecting EU players, however transfer to US server and back to EU fixed it for me.

    I didnt get my portal stones,had to goto Lions Arch and get them. Then when i go in there and talk to guy..no rewards.

    There is a jumping puzzle in WvW that would blow your mind. It was an honest challenge, and offered great rewards.

    I just haven't seen anything like this in other MMO's. It was straight out of Tomb Raider, old school Mario, or Prince of Persia. I'm really stoked about this. At the time of this writing I am level 3!

    Dont go by Youtube vids , with everything on high the graphics are amazing.

    Almost up there with Lotro quality

    I didn't like the graphics by what I saw online also. That changed when I watched a live stream. Don't know why, and I know it sounds weird, but somehow the prior online videos just didn't do it justice. I got to see everything from the character creation and lots pf PVE on dozens of streams last night and I was really impressed and surprised. Might want to check out streams on twitch before writing it off.
