I got Banned/Blocked for no reason. I seriously dident do anything.

in Guild Wars 2

Earler today when the servers came back up from the breif outage I noiced theres a chracter in my box I dident make. So right away I contacted Support ( At time of this Post still unanswered) then I played for awhile till I got too tired to play anymore and went to bed. Woke up tried to log back in and it said my account has been banned for  Unappropte Behivor ( My spelling is shit tonight)  So WTF. I know I dident say anything in the general chat to get banned, Im always A nice person in general always helping out. And I never got banned in any game before this so I dont know whats going on. I sent another Support ticket and hope they answer back.

    If you are telling the truth, it looks like someone gained access to your account and got you banned by misbehaving. You should probably change your password to something more secure along with running a virus scan on your computer to be safe.

    What kind of fourth reich regime are they running?  A dude in a thread earlier was banned for a bad joke, another for having the name "screw you".... Seriously rediculous.  No warnings, just straight up bans... and on launch day...

     

    They seem to be ostracizing anyone they think could be offensive.

    It is because this is a game for kiddies.  Grown-ups don't play this kind of boring mmo.

    I changed my password when I sumbitted that first support ticket.

     

    I can Log into the GW2 website and click on my account but it doesnt say anything. It only says I got blocked on the launcher. I would of thought they would of sent an email if they are going to block you so you can contest it or something. I hope Anet answers to my tickets soon.

    Swaring should not get somoene banned when theres a profanity filter.

     

    Also I hardly use the map chat. I say thx if someone revived me or something.

    I'm going to call BS on this one. I can see maybe 'gold selling' or something bad, but misconduct? Yeah, 99% chance it was you for that. Don't go talking bad in chat and making obvious threads about you trying to claim innocent when you were not.

    I sware on my life its not BS.  I dont do any Gold/Gem Selling or miscondict.  I only played for 3.5 hours total. I only made 2 tooms a

    There is a story behind poopy-Joe

     

    A few friends of mine on skype made a TF2 server with bots and one of the bots was called Poopy-Joe and someone said if you get killed by a guy called poopy joe you should hang your head in shame. So I named my steam Poopy-Joe.

     

    That is a funny name.

    That's awesome, I wish more games cracked down on dumbass names.

    That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

    A straight up ban for inappropriate names is an overkill imo.

    if you got banned for a name, then you should have read the nameing policy better.  theyll clearly state proper naming edicate to avoid being banned over a bad name.

     

    if it was for the name when the temp ban is lifted youll need to rename undoubtedly, pick better next time.

    Oh god.  You got banned for naming your character Poopy Joe? ahahahahahahha

     

     

    That's hilarious.  

     

    How can people defend this?  This is clearly way overboard.  Are they forcing you to roleplay as well?

    hmm just went and deleted my character named nobgoblin just in case. Didn't know they were going to be this drachonian about it.

    The part that applys to you isn't far down, but it also says the first offense is simply a name change.
