Remember how they had a million events and were changing things on a daily basis, calling all these little extra stress tests just to change little things etc etc?
It's the same people folks. The ones that have done just about everything right?
The game is absolutely MOBBED and they're trying to use those overflow servers rather than start a bunch of servers SWTOR style that'll become redundant in a month. Stuff like the guild visibility issues and the trading post being down is surely temporary stuff. They'll fix it, we've ALREADY SEEN how active they are in fixing things. You'll be fine.
I promise, they didn't turn the forums off and yell WOOOOO PARTY TIME and then do bourbon shots and vomit it immediately directly on your server architecture while laughing at your support tickets with a hooker in their lap.
...though I wouldn't blame them if they did because that sounds fun.

From what I have seen so far I think it clearly shows that they know what they are doing.
The haters and doubters can voice themselves all they like but aside from the initial login issues I haven't had a single problem at all. Oh wait.. one event got stuck for about 10 minutes before it got reset, aside from that I haven't seen anything go wrong.
TBH I am starting have some doubts about Arenanet. They really dropped the ball on the headstart. It doesn't look like they are going to get the trading post up anytime soon. There are bugged quests and skillpoints. There are mailbugs and wierd party bugs. As well as guild bugs and other display bugs.
The game clearly wasn't 100% ready for launch. Hopefully they can get everything fixed up in the next couple days but I doubt it. It might take them a few weeks to take care of all the issues.
They don't even have their forums up. Which looks really amateur on their part.
When its ready.....
The Game is simply awesome.
After the last 2 Stress Tests a was very worried about performance on my medium PC...but it has boosted and now i can play in most PvE areas with most settings at max with 40-50 fps!!
There were some bugs today at launch like the Guild Panel not letting us represent our guild or use the guild chat properly but those things will be fixed in the next days... Performance will most probably boost even more when new drivers are released.
At the end we´ll end up with simply one of the most fun & amazing games i´ve ever played.
I played 8 hours straight and didn´t even noticed...
I´m simply in love with GW2.
I'm not trying to be negative so I'll say this happy like, if true, front end systems like that are a tad bit hard to overlook. IE Mail, Party/group, and guild bugs. Hopefully for our (as forum goers) sake, they get that stuff worked out before official launch day. I can see the "when it's ready posts already"... <--- lol @ the foom ninja action.

99% of the problems are about server load. Trading post? Kept crashing because of connectivity/load issues. Ditto for pvp. Ditto for the login issues. Ditto for the initial lag last night. The mail bug? Caused by server lag.
I've only seen one bugged DE and no bugged hearts or skil challenges yet, tough I've heard others complain about them. But the vast majority of the problems rely around Anet not being able to handle the massive influx of people they got.
"So what's the good news, Terr you sexy beast?"
Well, I'm glad you asked that. Server load problems are generally easy to fix. There's three main ways: 1) Adjust load balancing (which is how they got the login servers fixed), 2) Fix netcode (probably what's wrong with Trading Post), 3 add hardware. None of those require a massive re-write of entire systems. In short, they're all relatively easy to fix compared to, say...the entire combat system being jacked or something.
I predict in a couple days we'll see everything up and running. Hopefully.
Pretty much this.. this is a good launch. People just desperately finding a reason to hate this game. Unfortunately for them its going well.
for single unguilded PvE players who are not interested in grouping or any other player interaction (trading post or mail) , it is a wonderful game so far. but don't forget you can't use the trading post and the mail is hit or miss. oh, and don't forget the login errors or e-mail authentication errors many have experienced as well. the game is going to be be fine, but let's not pretend everything is okay. either you are posting in the wrong forum (this is for Guild Wars 2, btw) or you're partaking of illegal substances.
I think if you are a fanboi you might believe that, but overflow servers kills the immersion as it makes an instanced game feel very heavily instanced. It really does feel at times like solo or small group world rather than an actual world.
Anyway, good to see ArenaNet working on their server problems, and there are many in game bugs to fix too.
GW2 is good casual fun, but it is generic high fantasy and there's nothing really new here, though it makes a good casual game for something more hard core.
I'm in a guild right now and we've been playing together just fine.
I also happened to catch Kripparrian's stream a while ago and they had about 20 guys running around one of the zones doing events and stuff.
Mail and trading post, one or two days into the game, is a very minor thing at this point. Pretty much every single problem that has been brought up can be accounted for by server lag or general connectivity issues. The login issue that was quite bad earlier on in the first day is completely gone now. I've relogged several times over night and every single time I'm getting in first time. We will see how it goes when it gets busier but im expecing ArenaNet have made some changes. The players will be spreading out a bit more as well which should help a great deal.
