no it is not a failure, not in the long shot. we gamers are failures. most of us don't have the knowledge of what goes on in stuff like this. we pay a meager amount of money and expect everything to go on as we want. as a person who studied in the field of software engineering i know exactly what kind of hell these game developers and publishers go through everyday to provide us. so please get off your high horses and wait.
Arenanet has chosen to close down their own forums. I think that puts things in perspective. If Arenanet is already doing damage control, then its been a rough launch so far.
I kind of thought it had more to do with freeing up resources (the Human variety, that is). It certainly hasn't been perfect, but none have. I'm on Jade Quarry, and the numbers of people on last night were more than i've ever seen in an MMO.
I guess your referring to your client launching as opposed to the games launch as a whole, the title of your post is kind of confusing that way. Ive never had even a single problem with the client launching or entering the game for that matter.
I had no trouble downloading patches loging into my game account and creating a character in GW2 but right after i create the character and the "My Story" cinematic plays out the loading screen for the first intro mission/quest just keeps loading indefinetly... i mean i have left it there for over an hour before and it either kicks me out or gw2 completely closes on me with no error message nothing, just infinite loading screens... its so frustrating.
I really hope its not my computer i already disabled all windows firewalls and still nothing..
Intel i3 CPU
6GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6570
Anyone else having this problem? i have looked everywere and i can for something similar but cant find anything. and i also switched to a european LOW populated server in case it was some sort of lag and still no success. had no problems playing during BWE.
Not heard of this particular problem either, what drivers are you using?
I updated the drivers recently and all the drivers are up to date as far as i know i also went to "systemrequirementslab.com" to see if my PC could run it and as expected passed with flying colors way over minimum requirements.
