I've played the game and didn't notice a flat lvling curve. shoot me?
So just to be clear, each lvl has a static lvl requirement of for example 100xp to lvl each time?

So it is indeed not truely flat?

Its slower up to about level 10, then pretty much flat.

I think we would call it a logarithmic curve.
For those who dont know what that is: The inverse of an exponential curve.
You might be level 80 with a toon in a week but wil you have a 100% map completion? So far played for a day and a half pretty non stop I'm at level17 but with only 7% of the map complete so how I see it I wil be at level 80 but still have plenty to do and de's don't even factor in to map completion which are the majority of the content. I believe they said over a 1000 de's compared to the 300 something hearts and I haven't even touched on pvp.

So at your current rate you will have full map completion in 11 days?

Most people just play MMO's to hit top level and PVP
It's disgusting!
They need to learn to stop and explore the world to truly enjoy what was put into the amazing game they are playing. I play MMO's like I do console RPG's I explore the shit out of every nook and cranny looking for that hidden treasure or fun side quest. It's that kind of stuff that makes games fun. Not hitting top level asap and then claiming you're the best at your class cause you can beat someone else in PVP who probably has no experience in the game and their class, just like you.

People who hit lvl cap in few days doesn't care about being 100% in map exploration or achievements. I have seen this happening too many times in new released MMOS. This problem won't be exclusive to GW2 alone.
Unlike most games where once you hit lvl cap, thats it, GW2 provides you with content to continue on with. Just because you hit 80, doesn't mean your at Orr. Of course, I could be wrong as well, since thats just how GW was. The real question would be not whats their level, but whats their completion rate?
I'm sorry but the only one saying anything about the second coming is you. Fans of a game accept its flaws and strengths.
Ok, I'll put this text in color so people actually read this once and for all:
There is 80 levels in the game. Leveling from 1 to 30 is actually in accelerated mode, which mean there isa leveling curve during those level. So, for example, leveling 9 to 10 will be much faster than 19 to 20, which in his turn will be faster than 29 to 30. However, past level 30, every level will take the same amount of time.
In other words: 1 to 30 will go gradually up, taking more time with each levels. Once you hit 30, you hit a peak. While the amount of XP will be higher by each level, the amount of XP rewarded will also go up. Leveling from 30 to 31 will take the same amount of time as 79 to 80.
Another useful thing to know is that the end game begin as soon as level 35, which is when you unlock your first explorable mode dungeon (Ascalon Catacomb). But since this is an entirely other subject, I'll skip on it. Also don't forget that the levels are more or less useful. There's also a whole zone dedicated to level 80s, so even when you hit 80, you still have a whole lot to do (like farming explorable mode dungeons, doing the events in Orr, the level 80 zone, WvWvW, sPvP, etc)

It's a very easy game. Even playing very casually you should beat the game in less than a couple of weeks.

I'd love to see you say that after you've done a dungeon in explorable mode. If you think getting max level in an MMO means you've 'beat' it.. then you are 100% wrong.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

All MMOS have stuff to do once you hit lvl cap and yet for a lot of people the game ends once they hit 60, 80 or whatever the level cap is.
Comments
Probably, as there's already level 30+'s running around.
Also seen calls in /map asking for the quickest way to level to 80. Some people will never learn.

It's like Ponzi scheme, people never learn and then complain.
