Personally, I'm really enjoying the game so far. I didn't take part in any of the BWE or really many of the stress tests because I was debating whether or not I was going to buy the game. So I'm kinda noob.
Right now, my WvWvW experience has envolved a lot of running around...then I usually run into a big group from another server, who kick the ever lovin crap out me, then I go back to running around, trying to get back into the fight.
So Any links, vids, tips to help out would be great. I know, I know...L2P nub. I'm just trying to get my feet under me as far as PVP goes. I've had a busy weekend, so I haven't had as much time to play as I'd like. I'm only level 13, so I've got a way to go. Maybe I'll have an easier time of it as I get to a higher level (I know I get boosted to 80 for PVP).
Also, any links, vids, tips for a thief would be appreciated. Love the way the thief plays, but I haven't quite translated it from PVE to PVP. I think I found a good style for me with pistol/ dagger & sword/ dagger as my weapon sets.

I don't have much for videos or guides to show you, just some simple generic tips:
Basically you need to coordinate with other people and other guilds.
You need to be part of an overall strategy and you need to get some intelligence of what is going on where. Following a zerg will only do jack against another server that is doing the same thing.
A well run ten man can destroy a 20 man zerg in a fight and with good tactics and strategy the zerg will have no idea where they are coming from or when.
This doesn't mean you can't run around solo. But it does mean you need figure out who has their heads on straight and build some trust with those people and coordinate whenver possible.
what are you trying to do?
looking for the best most efficient way to get exp from WvW
or understanding the tactics?

A little bit of both.
Thanks for the tips.
I try to communicate, but I need to learn the locations better to communicate/ coordinate better.
Good point about retreating vs dying/ running back from the waypoint.
