Lag and disconnects

in Guild Wars 2

Hi all

I was wndering if many are experiencing in game lag and frequent disconnects still? I hve leveled two toons to lvl 10 so far, in human and norn territory, and in both cases i run into lag issues where the whole thngs freezes for a few seconds before i gain control back. I am also still experiencing disconnects frquently.

My rig can handle GW2 with most options on high and i did not have those issues in BeTA.

However, i must state that i live in the middle-east for workand that connectivity is sometime an issue, but i hve never faced anything this bad in many other games i play, including on US servers.

Anyne facing this too, or anyone with tips on what to do?

    This happens when a MMO launches.

    I play on the EU servers. Had major issues on Saturday, but nothing worth mentioning on Sunday. It was silky smooth. So, I'd say the problem is at least partially on your end, although it's possible your server is under more stress than mine (Gandara). I spent most of my time in overflow, though, and I don't even know how it's connected to physical servers.

    Are you getting Error code 7 messages when you get disconnected by any chance?

     

    If so, I had this same issue and fixed it by transferring servers. I contacted GW2 support, and ran an NCSoft network troubleshooter. There was one particular IP address that I was having connection issues with, so I just tried moving to a new server. Once I did that, all my issues went away.

    Yeah it might be more difficult if you are in a guild that has chosen a particular server, but if possible, try transferring servers. That's what fixed it for me. Otherwise I'd contact GW2 support, and they can look into it more.

    I am not in any guild yet, so transferring isnt a plbm. I have sent an email to support, i will keep this thread updated.
