Expansion Download or Retail

DigableDDigableD Member Posts: 71

I want to buy the EQ2 expansion desert of flames. I went today to best buy to pick it up, and they didn't have any in stock. do you get any additional goodies with the boxed version? or does the DL include everything that the boxed version has?

thats not entirely correct. the box has a collector's coin and a poster-size map of the Isle of Ro. If you arent the person who cares about stuff like that though then go ahead with the digital download.

Personally I refuse to buy the expansion. $29.95 for an expansion that's not much bigger than splitpaw? No thanks.

I bought it and I won't be able to use it for a looong time. I'm not rich but I must have all expansions regardless of cost, and 30 bucks is nothing, costs more to get a couple of decent pizzas.image

Are u sure you're talking about Desert of Flames? That expansion is around 15 times larger than splitpaw....

and scaramosh...you're missing around half a dozen other zones...

......and yes it does have voice overs lol

BTW....still looking for your beta screenshots of you playing Desert of Flames ::::20::

When did you last play? And the city does have voice overs but you have to be a certain distance from the NPC's to hear them.

Like En1gma said, if you read between the lines, we don't believe that you played the expansion like you have claimed.

Im missing something here. Now i love EQ2 dont get me wrong, and Ive played the expantion extensively. But im missing these voiceovers you all are talking about. I am yet to hear a single voice over from an npc. Yet all hear them all over the old world.

The only thing i can think of that accounts for this, must be either the fact I used the digital download and somehow it did not give me the voicepak files, or you people are talking rubbish, and there arent any yet.. Which is it?

(note I have my patcher set too download all additional content, before i can play)
