Dynamic Events give too much XP and hearts are worthless. I don't understand why all events aren't equal. I'm level 45 still leveling on a 15 zone. Exploits.
It's not an exploit to farm an area like that. If you want to do that. You can go to level 80 there if you like, but you'll still have your level lowered to see the rest of the content.
To each there own.
Leveling is the smallest part of the game. It only allows you to see the later content.

That's not an exploit, the game is meant to function that way.
The GOAL of this game isn't to farm EXP, though there are definitely players treating it as such. Furthermore, hearts are far from worthless. Many of them have hard to find crafting ingredients, that you can only buy from that NPC. As for gear, they are mostly pretty good for the area they're in. However, (43 necro here), I don't go back to the lowbie areas to get gear (ascalon catacombs aside), I go there to explore, for map completion, to discover new crafting hubs, etc.

Macroing yes, but if he watns to grind that DE, go for it. He isn't going to lvl nearly as fast as one would otherwise.
I've even sat there on a bugged lvl 20 event (that just kept repeating and churning out mobs). Was awesome initially, and then the exp got pretty slow, really fast.
It's weird because the hearts at level 35 only give 1200 XP. Takes forever to complete them this level 25 zone gives me 1000 XP plus mobs every 7 minutes. Only XP in WvW can compare to that.

In another thread someone reported that DE's were repeating themselves instantly (or something along those lines) allowing players to just keep running those events over and over again, result being massive amounts of exp in a short amount of time. I'm not in Headstart so I have no idea if this is actually happening, but, if it is that is basically the very definition of exploiting.

im starting to see people exploiting macros more and more afking and jsut reaping rewards. that must be stopped.
hell i dont know why people are doign it when they are jsut putting their account at risk for little reward
It surprises me that no one has mentioned crafting as a way of getting XP.. From what I heard, you get a crapload from it. After all, the first level 80 spotted was a crafter if that wasn't obvious. xD
I found one where I logged out at a chest in a cave and when I looged back in I was able to get that chest again. Didn't feel the need to repeat though. Wonder what if anything will be done to combat exploits.

Gotta love those overflow servers. Find a patch of 10 spinach 100exp each while wandering around in an overflow server for a couple hours. Then join your home server next time it prompts you to and harvest them again. Then relog and get put in a different overflow server for a third harvest.
Hearts aren't really there for xp. They give a decent amount once yes.
But their two main purposes are:
1) karma vendors, after the starter zone heart vendors give quite good green gear
2) zone completion
If you don't care about either one feel free to ignore hearts. Personally I find the hearts to give certain things that are rather hard to find like upgrade on your waterbreather slot.

Which makes me seriously wonder the real reason is that the Trading Post is down.

Why wait? With the Hall of Monuments Stone you can rezone in a matter of 5-10 seconds depending on loading times.

Actually ArenaNet has cited crafting as a legitimate method of levelling... not an exploit.

Yes but maybe they don't want a bunch of 80's in the first couple days. Unless you have guild feeding you, crafting will be difficult without the Trading Post.
Differance would be item rewards, DE are supposed to always be rewarding hence the down scaling. From what I've seen item rewards have a level limit based on the zone.

Nothing in GW2 is stopping you from leveling the way YOU want to. If you want to grindfarm a single spot up to LvL 80 go for it. But you'll have missed out on... basically the game. (achievements, gathering, crafting, points of interest, vistas, awesome events, beautiful landscapes ... etc etc.)
edit: Also, you'll have gained NOTHING from LvL 80. No new experiences, no fun. Just tristesse.
I dont get why people exploit or even why people want to rush to level 80.. I know the quests are pretty boring in this game but just relax and take your time.
This goes for any mmorpg if you rush to end game within a day of the game being launched then all you will do is start complaining that there is no end game and quit and be unhappy... take yor time and ahve fun.

I pity the people that STILL don't get it.
True true, alot of people seem to have forgotten why games are played in the first place.....fun.
Yeah yeah i know some realy do this for fun but i feel bad for people like that tbh.....they see all the content in a matter of weeks (or sometimes days or even hours) and then they have no more content left to do so they start posting troll-threads about the game not having enough content.
Poor content locusts......i realy do feel bad for them.

I have to disagree. you do gain a lot as a higher level. you get access to all skills and traits which are locked by level.
and events at higher level are way more interesting than lower level.
lets not forget the access to dungeons as well which are level locked.
levels are a big restriction in this game in terms of access to fun. I cant blame people for wanted to level pass these restrictions as soon as possible.
