Engineers- Turrets or Bomber/Grenadier for WvWvW?

RaganaRagana Member Posts: 458
I need your help. I honestly can't decide which to go for WvWvW. Turrets sound appealing but I feel like I would be too tied down. Should I do bomber/grenadier or just grenadier?

This is the build I have going so far:

But I am VERY open to all suggestions.

Thanks,
Tommy

I played am engine to 40 in wvw during the BWE. I'd say the grenadier type build is a little more effective. Maybe other people have designed a good turret build for wvw, but I just didn't like how you had no control over them. They would shoot at seemingly random things.

I wanted to love turrets, and focus on them completely...but they were underwhelming for me. I wanted to AT LEAST have them attack whatver I was targeting.

Ultimately I usually went with a high DMG weapon build, I looked running pistols with lots of conditions.

Any chance I could get a link to that?

Been playing my engineer in wvwvw a lot recently, I have stacked all my points into Explosives and firearms,  I plan on doing explosives/firearms and a little alchamy.   Grenades are the most OP thing known to man in PVP and bombs are the most OP thing in PVE against non ranged enemys.  Basically all you need is a rifle that stacks +5 condition damage, bombs, and the potion gun then you can do anything PVE.  I use basically the same build for PVP but usually have potions to break stuns.  If theres a group you use the OP Grenades and do an insane amount of damage.  If you catch a straggler its Rifle / Alchamey gun = Unstoppable.   That mixed with potions your basically in control of any situation.

EDIT:  The healing turret is useless too, I made this mistake a lot.  The health potion is the best for you and your team along with the elixir gun (I finally got the name right!).  I also should mention that the owl's condition damage is huge so you can swap that out from the elixir if your going to be getting a lot of single targets.

I didn't make a build on a build creator cause I figured it was all in flux. I rolled a guardian at release so I haven't revisited it. Sorry.
