How to level up quickly?

Syno23Syno23 Member UncommonPosts: 1,360

I was playing through the game there's ways to level up quicker than others. Hearts aren't a good way to level but there's stable XP. I heard things from Crafting that you can lvl up fast from crafting. Then there's things such as dungeons. A level 40 dungeon called "CM" can get you 20k XP in 30 minutes. There's a few starting zones that have a portal Dynamic Event that can be repeated a ton of times.

There's also chain Dynamic Events in genral that give 7 to 8k base XP plus fighting mobs can net you another 10k in about 25 minutes.

Anything else?

The developers have stated that the average level takes around 1.5 hours... This was NOT true during my experience from 1-30. BUT now that I'm 40+ and I stop running off in different directions and actually play some of the DEs and hearts, I can get a level every hour. It's really quite easy.

That sounds about right. I'm lvl 53 and I've been playing for roughly 74 hours.

So WvW is the fastest way to XP?

Well if you want the absolute fastest way - have a large guild feed you crafting mats non stop for 30+ hours. That will get you to lvl 80 in no time. Otherwise I would suggest doing whats fun and ignore the levels in general.

Got 10 straight up levels just from crafting. Very little effort. But had to gather it all my self so the time spent finding the mats was long but if you had someone just give you mats or buy them then you'd level up pretty fast.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

I'm level 46 and I've played 47 hours. Some zones are very much quicker than other in terms of xp. In Harathi Hinterlands you can end up doing events back to back for hours, giving you a level more than every hour. When I go help my friends in low level areas that I have NOT yet explored it usually takes more than 2 hours per level. In short, leveling speeds are not at all balanced. There are ways to level much quicker and ways to do it much faster. I should add that dungeons suck for leveling. One dungeon usually is equal to around 5 events in xp. But 5 event you can easily complete super fast in the right zone.

I've obviously (by pure chance) chosen the fast leveling zones since I have 1h per level played (and I've not skipped jumping puzzles or dungeons or playing lowbie zones with my wife either).

the first raid wont be out for 80 years, so get your elite skills and just ignore then number in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity.
I am, usually on the sandbox .. more "hardcore" side of things, but I also do just want to have fun. So lighten up already :)
