I am an old EQ player and use to love playing that game. When EQ2 came out i actually liked the game also, but hated the lack of PvP and ended up leaveing, my lvl 34 is still up after 8 months of not playing and forgetting to delete my account. So now that EQ2 has changed so much from what ive heard, i have thought about comming back.. but i am not sure if i should. Is EQ2 a game worth comming back to? I am wondering if there will be a new game that will overcome it in the near future and my start of dedication once again will be pointless.

What do you think?

So what exactly are you looking for in coming back to EQ2? If you are looking to come back due to pvp, it does have it now.  Tho its only consentual dueling or its done in an arena setting.

Have played: CoH, DDO EQ2, FFXI, L2, HZ, SoR, and WW2 online

I am wondering if it meets the standards now that most people would expect of the game, and is it now considered just as good of a game as GW or WoW overall by the majority of mmorpg players

Since the combat revamp, the game truly plays like Everquest 2; a sequel to EQ. At release it kinda sucked, but the have put SO much content and work into it since then with 2 adventure packs and a full expansion and the topper, the combat revamp. It's addictive fun and challenging.image

Its still PvE. It still rewards those with social skills. The real change from february is that the game is a lot more "polished", have 10x the content and a lot more combat oriented stuff for soloists.

Deffently YES. Like you I played on release and quit. I reactivated 3 months ago and its great!.

Also you do have a 7 day FREE gameplay now. Its an offer to "old" players. So why not just try it out? No loss (besides time).

Quick question about your poll. If the majority says yes, then will you just go back to EQ2? i don't see the point in a poll that says "should i come back" I believe you need to make that choice for yourself, not what others think you should do.
