Define grind - either way good to hear you are liking it. Come back to us when you hit 80 and tell us if you still feel the same about the grind
well i am sure it will be abit grinding but still.. GW2 has much more to offer then i thought of.
at first i said GW2 will die fast.. and it suck, etc.....
now i got the game i played it almost for 30 hours in this weekend and i am lvl 28 or so. and i still have alot of fun..
and well in Wow grinding was boring cause there was no fun.. in the quest like in GW2.
Tera is a pure grinding game which makes it abit sad.
rift is also a pure grinding game..
Tera, rift are both great games with nice Graphic. but i can't always pay them.. so i decided to turn my spot against Free To play after u paid for the game
but i dont think gw2 will be that boring. i cannot tell before i actually hit 80 which should take me atleast 1 -4 weeks more
I get how it's a grind to get the cultural sets etc but those are just skins.
It is simply not required to grind, at all, to be competitive in wvw and dungeons, you can just pick up basic rares for cheap karma in the endzone, it's 99% the same as top-end heavy-grind gear except without the epic looking skins. So as long as you don't mind looking less epic, from a power perspective, you're 99% of the way there with no grind.
As for sPVP, there is zero gear or levels grind, you just pick a spec, gearset and go, both pickup and tournament.
GW2 is an amazing game I have to say, incredibly fun at endgame, and people can have fun either grinding the endgame sets... or not, it's up to them.
I'm normally a big, big complainer about the flaws of games as per my previous posts on SWTOR, Tera and TSW.
Yeah, I'm loving it too which is a surprise to me. I'm really not a fan of fantasy stuff and only got the game because the systems and mechanics sounded interesting and I wanted to check them out.
Anyway, after playing for a lot of the weekend it has completely won me over. The dynamic events are great and I really like how you get XP for doing pretty much anything in-game. I don't know if it'll hold my attention for more than a few weeks (I'm a bit burnt out on MMOs to be honest so I go into them for what I get out of them for as long as I get it out of them and I'm OK with that) but I'm pretty sure I'll still be dipping in from time-to-time just like I do with CO.
I love the environments too. Divinity's Reach is an amazing place and has tons of what most fantasy sorely lacks - a sense of wonder and fierce imagination.

This game is surprisingly good, very impressive.
