in The Matrix Online

- I have been playing MMO's for a while - when did this release lol :P I am surprised to see that this is a game now HAHA - after the third movie I would have thought that anyone having to do anything with "The Matrix" would be hiding image

 

Anyway - how does it play - seriously - I may like to try if the gameplay is pretty kewl.image

And many many others in many many games. But I always go back to my home in DAoC :)

    You might want to check out the posts on the forums at http://thematrixonline.station.sony.com/ 

    I was in beta and enjoyed it but there were some nasty bugs and performance was pants on 512MB of RAM.  These might have been fixed since I played it.

    Generally I enjoyed my time in the Matrix though and would like to go back some time......

    The combat is the key feature in this game. Its visually stimulating, and I enjoy it. However, there are many people who find it to be lack luster, but they are fools who cant seem to think. The combat is great, but everything else is lacking.

    1. PVP is way unbalanced. Hackers dominate, and although they are weaker now than in the beginning, they are STILL overpowered.

    2. End game content is non existent. Theres 1 level 50 dungeon, and you can go through it without a scratch with +30 DR (dodge ranged) clothing on.

    3. Syntax and output or w/e they call the other NON hostile (PVP server basically) are very boring. On hostile servers, there's base raids and all that jazz, which sounds fun. I wish I had made my character there, as it is simply the best.

    Some good things are theres lots of lewt, lots of guns, lots killing. And a GREAT RP community. IT is the best I've ever experienced. If your looking for a good RP community where the gameplay doesn't really matter this is the game for you, if not then don't bother. It is enjoyable if you give it a chance, but most people don't.

    Woah, i didnt know there was base raids, i think i might move over to that server. Sounds sick.

    i dont wanna be ragging on mxo, but as of march it sucked as much as it did this time last year...very sad what they did to the idea of matrix online...i'd rather give eq2 a try....reasons why it sucked for me: interlock combat was highly gay(it looked cool), all the buildings looked the same, it was all dreary and sad looking^^, map sucked(hopefully fixed), and the bad guys would just stand in the street...some of these issues might have changed, but who knows....

    however, try mxo and make yur own decision...never ask if a game is good or not, cuz it basically comes down to, do you like this shit or not.

    I have heard many stories of factions taking over buildings etc. One of my favorite stories was during a live event. Agents were talking to machinist redpills and zionists heard about it, normally on a normal server nothing would happen. No one would care, but there they decided they'd jump all the machinists after the meeting. The agents knowing everything TOLD (these ***Where*** the live event teams) the machine operatives to go out the back door, some did, and some fought. and since its open pvp past level 16 only the noobs could escape unharmed, and i think there was a second zion group waiting by the back door just in case who jumped the scared machinists.

    That all happened in a building btw. Plus factions can hold up a building and call it their own, theres plenty. and since no where is safe everyone hangs out in thier *safe* houses, or apartment buildings when they arent doing anything. Its a great server, and i wish my main was on it. *sigh*.

    it was like 10 bucks a couple weeks ago. try ebay and get yourself a cheap copy, im sure there are plenty. but i think its still 30$ at a best buy.
