Anyone been banned for no apparent reason?

in Guild Wars 2

I seriously dont know what is going on. The game crashed in my face and on log in Im permenently banned?.. My highest toon is 15... I never been mean to anyone... Exploit? im level 15.. dont know any.

 

Characters name are Anaeve, Anaève and Lord Undead Nagash...

 

I hope im not alone.. im quite confused I must say..

    If you didn't do anything wrong, then you got hacked.

    You sure you weren't doing anything when they banned you? I would go to reddit and post you account name and character name and the Arena Net staff will tell you why you got banned. Also, did you remember to enter in your retail key?

    All I can say is that I had a email asking me to reset the password of my account, and if it wasnt me simply ignore the email.. what I did but it was like a week ago.

     

    I sent a ticket but what is reddit?.

    The Reddit thread last week, with all the banned people getting named and shamed, was legendary. image Shame I can't seem to find it.

    You have been hacked and banned as a result.

    You must go to the Arenanet support site, and send them a ticket with "Hacked and Banned" as the title of the support question.

    These are being prioritised, and they will get you back in game quickly.

    I had the same thing, first an email about resetting password, then 3 days later I was playing and got booted out with a message "You have logged in from another location". Luckily I managed to jump into my account, and change my details, and logged back in before it was blocked.

    And dont forget to change both account name/mail and password once you guys get control again. Just changing password is risky since knowing the username is half the work.

    I would also change password to my mail to be 100% sure.

    those "reset passwords" are scam mails to steal your info. I got like 10 of those to an email unrelated to GW2 so i know they are trying to bait people randomly. Why would ANET send those emails out of nowhere? If they know your account is doing something worth a ban they ban the account, they dont tell you "oh please reset your pass because someone broke into it and is selling gold" lol

    When you get those, report them as phishing spam. If you want to take the safe route, manually open a new browser and go to your GW2 account and change password. 

    always take the safest way

    Yeah, we seen the same phising attempts for Wow for years.

    I have another recommendation: instead of changing the password it is your username/mail that is being compromized here. Change it.

    And get a POP3 Email adress instead of a friggin hotmail adress, those are way safer.

    I got one of these emails, and I don't play GW2 atm, but what puzzled me was that the email said "someone tried to change your password.  If this wasn't you, just ignore this email."  Normally they tell you you HAVE to cilick 'this link' to confirm your details.  Most strange.

    I don't think anyone was banned for no reason. I would bet on botting and people are trying to get their accounts back by saying they were banned for no reason. There's a LOT of botting it going on.

    I see them everyday. I saw yesterday 2 botters. Same thing was going on: they were in low level zone with high level characters(this is just assumption), running around without much logic, shooting the mob once or twice(to mark them for loot and for the others to kill) and then run off, picking up loot and everything starts over.

    Hey i swear.. my names are correct, my highest toon is 18, I dont know any kind of bug and exploit and dont know how to use a bot... I was questing alone, then I alt tabbed to check something on facebook and went to bathroom.

     

    5 mins later the game was back on loggin screen and saying im banned when I tried to log back on?... 

     

    Unless Ive been banned because some other people from other countries were trying to takeover my worthless account.. I dont see why Im banned.. And even if its this.. There s no point to ban someone for that... wtf I mean just send me a email or a notice so I can make some changes on my account
