Attention Gamers everywhere!!
Black Dragon Productions is building a brand new MMORPG designed to bring the players into a depth of Story and Mechanics like never before! We have been working for 3 years testing our theories of Player Influence and Customer Service and we have received an overwhelming response on our attention to detail and our quick Help Request reaction times! We are taking these theories to the next step by building a prequel to our already popular Ossus Online! In this Prequel we are pulling the stops out for graphics and content and are including the players in on the development! This game will be based in medieval times and will allow the individual to mold the world with their own personal decisions, and on top of that, the staff will be there to help In-Game and out of game with anything the players need! But we need your help to see our dreams come true.... We need the players to go to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bdpgaming/ossus-online-the-rise-of-virtue-0 and pledge their support. Our goal is to build a game that will return online gaming back to the people who made it possible, You, the player! With your own decisions guiding the mechanics and the players finally being able to influence world wide events we feel this game will be a huge hit to the MMORPG community and we are very excited to come to you and ask for your support! Please check out our site at www.OssusOnline.com for more information and feel free to contact our 24/7 Customer Service Agents who are standing by as we type!! Simply click on LiveChat on the site and you can speak directly with an Agent! Can't wait to speak with you!

Well I see you went with the dragons and swords theme. Very original.
"Don't tell me what to do! , you're not my mod"
Saying invented by me.
Back when I used to play MUDs/Mushes~ it wasn't exactly the player that made the game, but a design and coding team with a vision I was aligned with.
These days MMOs are pretty high budget events, with many single player games or small level multiplayer having difficulty getting off the ground with a scale like this. I hope you can gather enough people to make this happen, but are you aiming to be competetive or just create a very small niche?
Also, did we need another fantasy based mmo? Does nobody have any thoughts on what fantasy could be?
My first suggestion is to rename your game. Ossus Online sounds like shit.
You might want to try to come up with a name thats catchy or something people might remember.

Wow!!
how could this fail?!!?
/sarcasm
In all reality though, best of luck to you.
work on it for a few years, then when you have a half done product and a good video get some funding on kickstarter.. then we'll talk.

You have no manifesto. No footage to show us. How do you actually plan on achieving groups impacting others? Also, how can you say you're making something nobody else has done before with a fantasy theme? every successful kickstarter for a game had a solid game design manifesto that walked about what they wanted, and how they were going to achieve it. Description of game features like what you intend for combat.
Your game might be really, really good but how you're wording it and presenting it won't sell it. If it's really different it will stand out, but we've had MMOs with budgets in the hundreds of millions make the exact same claims you have and fall short. GW2 a game with plenty of overhead and one of my favorite games of the decade currently, made the claim that dynamic events would affect the environment upon success and failure and this has had limited appeal or demonstrable effects. At least they had something to lie to me about. Right now nobody has anything really to go off of from your ad.
Just to be clear, I'm not dissing your game or the efforts behind it~ I don't know enough about it to diss it. That's what I'm talking about.
Customer service is one thing, releasing a great game is another.
You guys went with the dragons and swords theme that is so over used it silly.
So youll be competing with Guild Wars 2 and Wow.
Id suggest you put in the stuff people have been asking for years and have been ignored.
-Player Housing (non instanced)
-Open worlds to explore , no rails
-Transmogification
-Armor Dyes
-Compelling Crafting (See SWG)
-A great character creator (Also see SWG)
-World Bosses
-No Flying Mounts
-Day and night cycles
-Weather effects
-Swimming in water
-Random treasure chests scattered around the world to reward exploring
-A PVP server with full open PVP outside of cities.
-A Hardcore PVP server with PVP everywere including in the cities.
-No pvp battlegrounds , reward people for killing people in the world.
-1 Faction
-No instancing or channels
-A strong game engine to support thousands of players in one area (See SWTOR for example how NOT do it correctly)
Thats just off the top of my head .

My 9 yearold asked me whats for dinner.
I told him im going to make him something thats better than anything hes ever had before.
He asked me what it was and I walked out of the room.

What do you know? You've taught your kid to cry over toast.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Yeah, I think you need to be a bit more illustrative of who you are, exactly what sort of game you are making and how you are going to achieve that...and whatever you can do to show you are actualy serious. Essentialy you are coming out of left field and most people here don't know who you are or whether to take you seriously. My first reaction when I read this is, are these guys for real or is it a scam of some sorts?
I've given to Kickstarters for games before (example Pathfinder Online)....but they had something to demonstrate they were for real (in the previous example, their backing with Pazio and the resume of the principles in the gaming industry). I think you need to do a bit more to show who you guys really are and how you are going to achieve your goals and really what your game is like.
I mean customer service is great, but no ones going to buiy a game because of it alone....they might decide not to buy a game from a company that has bad Customer Service..but not usualy the other way around.
Is it just me or does anyone else think kickstarter projects are just a clever way of begging for money?
This guy could be perfectly sincere about building a video game. But how do you know for certain? Couldn't he get a bunch of donations, fail to meet the goal, scrap the project and keep the dough?
Also, who gives a shit about talking to customer service for a game that isn't released yet? What is the purpose of costumer service when there are no customers, or a service for that matter?
...
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
Ok, thanks for the clarification.
Good luck to you guys, I hope you can pull it off.
guys guys guys....
How are we to believe that your are going to be able to pull off a revolutionary game, when your website and art look the way it does?
If you do not have the foresite to think about the effect of your websites first impression then you how do you expect to accomplish any of the hard parts?
My advice...take down your campaign...hire a few artists from e-lance or conceptart.org , Do not use your friends and call in favors, put up a web page that doesnt look like the first website ever created...heck find a worpress template somewhere. Then once you have that start your campaign again. You are going to waste 28 days of trying to raise funds and not get a dime of it, or start over now and maybe get back up in two weeks with something presentable.
I know im harsh but you need to hear it.
