You do realize your avatar makes it kind of difficult to take you seriously.
You're complaining about something not being 100% unique, and yet you're avatar is from a game that has basically copied everything from other games. Well done.

You know that got me thinking, I wonder how many MMO's have goblins(The OP's Avatar) as a playable race. There has to be quite a few.
Well you do know that dragons can fly so really, how else do you expect to fight a dragon? Trap it in a hole in the ground and kill its welplings first ? oh, wait, that's been done too.
Or when it had any of the other weapons used (dont feel like making the list)
Or armor.
Or magic.
Or pets.
Or stuff to kill
Or crafting
Or dungeons
Or PvP
Its funny how these things work.
A new game with a tragic antagonist who is the commander of an undead army seeking to wipe out all mortals? That's obviously going to catch a lot of flak.
You mean some jerk stole the "Bad Ash" concept from Army of Darkness? Or the Witch Kings from LotR? Or Davey Jones from PotC 2 and 3?
Let me at those heathens!
You mean Davey Jones and his locker only came about in those cheesy pirate movies?
Books, check 'em out, BOOKS! Check 'em out...
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
A fantasy game with a flying ship fighting dragons has been used for a long time, and will continue to be used.
By your logic - you should have left the game when you found out it had swords.
To be fair to the OP, the fist half of the video is nearly an exact replica of the Airship battle in the Deathwing raid.
You don't fight deathwing on the airship, you fight his minions as they spawn on your ship; While the dragon circles around. The adds keep spawning you keep fighting them and you have to watch not to step in the big red circles.
When you finally defeat all the adds, you move on to fight the big dragon.
In WoW you fall onto the dragons back, in this video you go onto a bigger ship and fight more adds then the big dragon. In the end, the big dragon falls down into the abyss.
He meant hes going to the grocery store.. he'll be back in a little while.
Plese, I doubt it. I'm sure he's busy playing something completely original like Diablo 3.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
I just can't take posts about a company ripping off something in WOW seriously . As asinine as it might sound they deserve it after how blatantly they ripped off Warhammer/WH:40K. I'm not even a Warhammer fan and it still disgusts me to this day.
Well games Workshop backed out on a deal to have Blizzard make the RTS for them. Serves them right to have Blizzard convert it to their own IP.
Dragons are huge and they fly. An airship is the most fitting nature vs. machine theme you can really come up with for a dragon.
It's also the dumbest way to fight one.
Boy wish I could say which of you is right. Unfortunately my copy of "How to Fight Dragons for Dummies" is on backorder at Amazon so can't say for sure.

I hear that the fight should be exclusively in the water. That would of gotten the fans so happy that they might of thrown their computers out the window in pure bliss........ God I hate underwater crap in this game.
You look at all of these airships and a dragon could just rip off the engine or rip it apart from underneath. Sometimes making things look cool just gets ridiculous. Let's attack a killer shark by floating on teh surface and leaving our legs exposed. that should work well.
Sure it's nitpicky, but that's why draons in MMO's never make sense. They always stand on the ground and let people hack them up.
Originally posted by Eir_S Hey OP. Other fantasy games did it before WoW... but I assume you're not "leaving now". We always knew which side your bread was buttered on anyway, I don't expect your own hypocrisy to open your eyes. Have fun going back to the melting pot of all generic fantasy cliches.
I can't even COUNT anymore how many of your posts are "quote-worthy" to me. And here's another.

I DON'T KNOW.PERHAPS IN AN AWESOME DREAM !!!!!???
Well evidently he didn't mean he was leaving GW2, because when he responded to me he said he's not nearly finished with the game yet.
Hey expresso, don't forget the milk.
I see, kinda like Elvis....Expresso has left the building.

All die, so die well.
My favorite is the zone "Arathi Hinterlands."
Looks like the dragon on the cover of Dragon Age.
That video wasn't very interesting... until one of them jumped off the ship. LOL
The zone is actually "Harathi Hinterlands": http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Harathi_Hinterlands
Hinterlands is a type of area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinterland
Harathi is a name in Hindi, coming from puja ritual: http://www.babynology.com/meaning-harathi-f30.html
All of that being said - Yes, Harathi Hinterlands is probably a friendly jab at GW2's main competitor.
Rut roh. We incurred the wrath of WoW. Everyone ship boat quick! God bully, can't take you anywhere can we?
