Maybe because in real life there is such things as hard and soft wood, each having their use in manufacturing .. So nature came up with the concept I guess

Ofc you are always going to have the 12 year olds that giggle over the word " wood " :p

Probably the dev who got tired of yew/pine and oak/teak but found alien names to just add confusion (is 'blorgat' wood higher or lower tier than 'drigmot' wood?). It probably also heped that he had a sense of humor. :)

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

No, but you can't leave the soft Wood around chicks in chainmail; it'll get... ruined.

Reminds me of almost every single commenter on a "Pokket" video. Seriously, we need to start culling members of this site with perma-bans for simply being creepy as all hell. Just read through comments on her videos. I literally get physically ill reading half of them.

Potential Viagra jokes aside, the only problem I have with "soft" and "hard" wood is that it's the coniferous woods (pine, fir, etc.) that are generally considered "soft" and your deciduous woods that are considered "hard" (oak, cherry, etc.)

They seem to have gotten that backwards.

    Oderint, dum metuant.
