Drones? Are they worth it? Im looking at both mining and combat.
Combat: EW vs Offensive/Defensive. Do most people mix a little EW in with thier ships or do they specialize?
Combat: Offensive vs. Deffensive. Is it possible to have a purely defensive ship and survive?
If someone has two characters (one for combat and one for corporate pursuits) how do you transfer items between them? I was considering running up a character primarily for combat purposes and milking his isk to train another character for mining etc. since I could theoretically keep him training forever and never actually play the guy.
Thanks in advance for your answers and opinions.

Heya!
Drones: it depends on your race. You definitely need them for mining. Especially in the beginning they make a difference. You can jave up to 10 drones in total by skills only. Certain ships give boni to the amount of drones you can control (+1/+5 per level).
Drones are primarily important for Gallente ships, which heavily rely on them as primary firepower (though there are other ways to fit them). Other races can benefit from them in a fight, too, but generally rely on other offensive means (weapons, missiles, EW).
In EVE, you have to tank. This means, that you must combine an offensive with a defensive setup. While in PvP things may differ, in PvE, it is crucial that you can tank the damage from the NPCs while killing them. For instance, my HAC uses large shield extenders and other modules to boos his shield. I sacrifice damage modules (I need Power Diagnostic Units to keep my PG (powergrid) high enough), but I can tank anything I see, which, in the long run, keeps me alive.
If you have two chars on two different accounts, then the normal setup would be to mine with one and haul with the other. Both chars would have to train mining then, and one would need to train industrial. Speaking of volume, the Gallente Iteron V is the top notch industrial (biggest volume), the Minmatar one is the most beautiful (arguably) and the Amarr Freighter looks best .
However, imo, you can not drain one char of money. When I played with two chars, I had to develop them both, so in fact I just increased income speed but also increased money sinks.
Playing two different chars on one account is not practical. You can train every skill on one char and have him do everything. Much better.
Combat drones are one of the best things to have in this game tbh.
I would really have to consider what ships to attack a lot more if i couldnt send my small drone army at my target
of course if u dont belive me i would be more then happy to show u
If pitbulls could lock their jaw the first pitbull would still be hanging on
Yes, drones are worth it. And if you trained for Gallente ships then you need them anyways. If you can't fly Gallente ships then you still need them to a certain extent. And for effective mining you need Drones 5 and Drone Interface at at least 4 anyways.
Depends. Some go for a half EW setup, like a EW Dominix that kills with Drones, while keeping the enemy jammed. Full EW setups are used too (mainly on Blackbirds and Scorpions), which even have no (or only weak) defence. All depends on the tactivs and situation tbh, though I would not recommend flying around alone in a pure EW ship. Those are mainly for group play.
Again depends on the situation. Currently ships in EVE are very often fitted for offense, with a "best defense is a good offense" mindset. Tanks are good in some situations though and are also needed for NPCing. There endurance is the key, not only firepower. In PvP the smaller the fights the more interesting tanking gets though (as a rule of thumb).
If both are on the same account then you use Escrow. You place an item there, restrict it to the other character, and then take it off with the character you wanted to give the stuff.
