Man, those phising mails are getting more and more annoying. Where is Judge Dredd when you need him?

Alright thanks, also for the pm.

Really weird, this mail set all my alarm bells off. It looks not really profesional at all. Plus all the pay $40 to get beta acces stuff didn't seem legit. And obviously the e-sonyonline.com, since sonyonline.com still works.

ya, not sure why they are using that domain either.  They should make an annoucment saying it is valid.

Did you know you can phish by using false email addresses? People use legit warcraft ones all the time that route back to them. Not saying this is a bluff or anything, just a little advice thing.

I recieved regular e-mails from ANet with "Pre-purchase to get beta access." seems to be the S.O.P. these days.

Thing is, GW2 is B2P and at some point you'd have to shell out the money for it anyway.

PS2 is F2P, no? So they are basically selling you 40USD worth of station cash with a game that will be free upon launch as the hook...

So because the email is legit, it validated your thread title after all.  Guess I don't have to correct ya, my work here is done.

Yeah a quick google search would have told you they use a third party to deliver all their bulk communication.

That being said i reacted the very same way when i got it, they really should have made more effort to explain to users

This have been a good conversation
