New zones? Didn't see that coming. I think events are about to take place, probably starting this weekend. I hope it's extensive like the January invasion was.

Being the good reporter as I am (::::35::), I went to the Karavan event yesterday - wanna know who were the attendees ? click here ^^

Also, you may try to find in the middle of the crowd, the Governor Still Wyler (Tryker) and the King Yrkanis (Matis with the big pike).... hard to see on this screenie tho... It is their very first official appearance ingame ::::02::

Tonight there's the second part of the event, at Zora, for the Kamists ;) Be sure to be there to see the emperor Dexton and the sage Mabreka (or whoever it is) ::::39::

Let's believe the Episode 2 will start after that, or during the next week ^_^ *excited*
About the new zones, I think they are related to the Ep2, so they will appear only after the GMs triggered the Ep2...

    Yes, I agree!

I was at both events. At the first to hold a speech, at the second just to watch!
And at the second the leaders of those countries were there too.

I wonder what will follow now!

If sleepyguy is still reading this forum... he would prbly have loved it (the new content).

But hold of on ye judgement till it's all over, grim =)

All it means is that your kind of "content" is harder to git than those that luv PVP, although I am certain you're up to the task ;)

It really wouldn't have been that hard to provide options for every flavour of player for this.
But they didn't. Despite this being the first big even in about 9 months.

The sop thrown to indy/neutral/hominist players wasn't worth waiting for.

I don't know what it's like on the other servers but I'd estimate 1/3 of the english server people are seriously dischuffed to a varying degree.

Dont worry. This is only the beginning. After outposts are in, XP and crafting is nerfed and the more aggressive guilds are able to clone an AoD in one week without caring for mats or craftingskills. ::::07::

    The dream is over ::::15::

pfft silly homin, the dream is alive and kicking. The only way to enjoy a thing is to embrace it. The same good nature and community spirit are alive and well in the FvF zone. Try it for a while before you make such drastic opinions :)

I seriously disliked PvP befor Ep2. After trying out Ep2 for a few days I am now hating PvP (yes it is a strong word but that is how I feel about it)

I was going to go into a rant about the next content comming in but why bother... Ryzom is dead to me now.

Rushin, check my position on the leaderboard and tell me I'm not giving it a fair whack.
I don't see what you're seeing. I see childish ganking and a massive lack of respect for other players.
There's no real community in that zone and what community there is is helplessin the face of the selfish kiddies.

I always disliked PvP before Ep2.
And now I find it most annoying, that I have to PvP to participate at the new content that found its way into the game.
I try getting used to be killed by gankers, that pull Kincher on me, why they fear my good healing skills.
If I lie on the ground, and get dust in eyes and ears I hope I get rezzed fast, and hope that the bloodlust does not take over, and drive me in senseless revenge.

My personal goal is to help errect both temples in Aeden Aqueous, and that will only be possible if I don't kill harvesters and crafters from the 'other' side.

    Not exactly true.

They realeased new tools, which has rules that allowed attacking other players in a zone. But you can do with it what you will.

Here's a question, if you only let other people kill you while you dig and craft away, and never fire back, would you still be participating in "PvP"?

Lemme think about it fer a bit.

*goes of to ponder this for a while*

I think you didn't read my statement completely.

I said I don't kill harvesters and crafters.

I didn't say I let my self killed without atemting to defend myself, and probably kill the attacker.

I still read this forum and still pay attention to the Ryzom website. I have to admit that what I have read here and on Ryzom's site do indeed sound like improvements that would be right up my alley. I recently read about the new faction changes and they were long overdue. It sounded like faction was actually going to mean something.

As for the pvp, I can see both sides of the issue. On the one side they finally did something to make pvp useful. It sounds like that created a place specific for pvp players to go and enjoy themselves. There was one thread on the ryzom boards that I thought summed up the pvp situation perfectly. The poster created a topic saying that they felt since nevrax created a zone for pvp, then they should create one for none pvp players. Someone responded that was a absurd idea because most of the game is non-pvp zones. From my limited viewpoint that says it all. People are complaining that there is a pvp zone and how unfair that is, yet the rest of the game is non-pvp.

Now on the other hand I can see the point of the non pvp'ers. The game has been without regular updates for so long that when one does come, there is really nothing in it for them. They are justified in being pissed off. The sad part is that updates are so slow in comming that it will be a long time before they get something.

As for my viewpoint as a former player who still keeps up on the game. I just don't see enough new in the game to convince me to rejoin. Looking at the game in a very realistic manor since I left some months ago they have only added a small pvp zone to the game. They have refined pvp and they have upgraded the faction system but that's simply not enough. There are no new classes, races, lands (a small desert area is hardly a new land) or skills. They have pretty much abandoned the encylopedia. And outposts STILL are not in the game.

The thing that is keeping me away most of all is the story. While it is moving forward, it's doing so at a snails pace. Unless I have completly missed something there really hasn't been anything new uncovered since launch. Back then we knew the Karavan and the Kami were enemies. We knew that the Fyros and Zorai supported the Kami, while the Matis and Tryker supported the Karavan.

When it gets to the point where I feel I will be able to experience things that I didn't for the 9 months I played I will consider rejoining. When I feel I can log on and actually get some real answers to story mysteries, I will consider rejoining. Or when (and if) R2 ever comes out, I will consider rejoining. However until the game actually moves forward I just don't see the point.
