Forge: Direct PreOrders Begin

Indie developer, Dark Vale Games, has announced that it is beginning to take direct preorders for its upcoming PvP-centric title, FORGE. Preorder players will receive access to both alpha and beta tests prior to the launch of the game.


  • STARTER [$15 USD]:  Receive a full release copy of the game; gain immediate access to play in the early Private Alpha; earn inclusion into the Closed Beta coming in September; and receive an in-game “Founder’s Title” to recognize the contribution to FORGE and Independent game development.

  • VETERAN [$30 USD]:  Includes all items from in the “Starter” package, plus an exclusive skin for all five starter classes as well as a year’s worth of FORGE downloadable content – including new classes, new skins, new maps and more -- FREE.

  • ULTIMATE [$60 USD]:  Includes all items from the Veteran package plus never pay for any downloadable content in the future – the Ultimate package is a lifetime pass to future content updates for FREE.

  • 4 PAK  [$60 USD]:  Receive a full release copy of the game; gain immediate access to play in the early Private Alpha; earn inclusion in the Closed Beta coming in September; receive the in-game “Founder’s Title” to recognize the contribution to FORGE and independent game development; receive the exclusive skins for all five starter classes; and get three extra copies of the game when it releases for retail.

    Nothing says waste of time like the main page forcing you to a login page.  You cannot get ANY informaiton on this game from that website without having an account.  Pass

    Something must be wrong on your end Gaugemaw. Loads and shows everything without having to login. Game looks interesting though, but to many games on my plate and seems more and more games are doing the Preorder/Purchase thing before even reaching alpha, and seen many sadly end up not making it past development stages so ill be cautious for now. :)

    Preordering a game like this is ok if you have money to through away.   The gameplay looked decent, but it is strictly pvp centric and the marketplace has said time and time again, such games are not long lived.

    I bought the $30 pack. Maybe a waste, but I have been looking forward to this game. Looks like it'll be decently fun at the minimum. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Yeah... no

    Only PvP game if they dont get huge success they will die fast. its a big chance to preorder this when its not nearly done even.

    If it had PVE also it would be completely different

    I like to support Indie titles, but I am still a little stung from the brief life and abrubt shutdown of a similar game that I spent money on, Fury..

    I am going to buy into one of these beta's going in..

    Mechwarrior Online

    War of the Roses

    or Forge?

    I am not sure where to throw my support, or which one will it make it worth my while.

    15$ is a good value for the money if the game ever gets released. Of course PvP needs to be your thing :j

    lobby pvp, I'm going to skip this one. 

    Still I could see myself playing this game if I weren't burned out on arena-type pvp games.

    I think you are right.  I may have passed judgment too soon.  All I di was click the link, then try to type in the website manually.  Both times it took me to the login page.
