that ship is apparently the Pleasure Barge, which was given out eons ago as an event prize. as far as i know. if its still in the game, i.e. not ganked. then theres only the one in the game.

shame they dont have the Titans on there. or the Devs jovian ships. ive got a shot video of an event in which two devs were piloting a Gallente Titan and a jovian frigate. at least i think it was a gallente titan.

also, if youre wondering where the strange ships came from, take a look at the three Caldari industrial ships. considering theres only the Badger 1 and 2 and the Busterd is the Badger 2 model. where did this mystery ship come from?

Would be cool to see these ships up against other sci-fi ships, like star wars or star trek

Star Wars: Imperial and Rebel fighters are the size of drones. Frigates eat them for breakfast. Star Destroyers are bigger but are no match for battleships.

Star Trek: Photon Torpedoes are shot down with defenders or destroyed with smartbombs. Laser damage is tanked. The cloaking Romulans might stand a chance if they gank some people, all other races get owned, including the Klingons. Only major challenge would be the Borg and Q.

::::02:: heh, I didn't mean as in battling. I was referring to size comparison.

And where did you come up with that conclusion? ::::14::

Well for one he's an idjit... considering PHASERS are not related to LASERS in any way, shape or form. Phasers are actually a concentrated warp energy beam. Basically a super-tight transporter beam that rips apart anything it touches. You can soak up laser damage with armor. Phasers are, according to Star Trek source manuals anyway, about 100-200x more powerful than any laser could dream of being.

Remember a single phaser bank on the Enterprise can theoretically destroy a planet given a steady blast. Or have we forgotten the enterprise blasting holes through the mantle of a planet to release lava vents?

As to EVE weapons against a ship like a Romulan War Bird or Galaxy Class Starship? Their weapons would, effectively, bounce off the shields.

That minmitar dread is just insane, nearly the size of some small stations when undocing. /me looks forward to titans :)

What is that ship just to the left of the top of the minmitar dread?

In case no one noticed, there is a size reference in the lower left-hand corner.   A scale of the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty.

And if you zoom in really far, you'll see the Damsel in Distress circled (although she's way too small to even see LOL)

Ok, to the best of my abilities I added a star destroyer and latest enterprise to the chart. Sovereign class ship (enterprise) is above the Megathron.. Stardestroyer is by the minmater ships.

it's not perfect but it's close

  • CennCenn Member Posts: 239

never realised that star destroyers were so big...
always thought they were MUCH smaller - because of the scene in empire strikes back where the millenium falcon hides on the back of the bridge bit... the falcon is TINY compared to all those ships...

  • ErrorSzErrorSz Member Posts: 2

well, the official is that they're like 1600(give or take) meters long. Startrek ships are small, enterprise is like 750m, most of that being in the warp drives.

and the enterprise looks much shorter than the star destroyer but if you use a ruler to compare it's just about under half its length.

in comparison, super star destroyer is nearly 20,000m long.. I'd put it in this picture but it would take up half the page

if you fly up to one of the massive ships in your noob ship, will it seem that big? like a fly landing on a dog?

  • TrakenTraken Member Posts: 172

Nope. Its the same thing as if you're in orbit around jupiter. The planet would seem small, but in reality is very big. Well, I guess it really depends on distance as well...but generally speaking, no.

  • L0k1-L0k1- Member Posts: 240

you'll c the diffirence trust me, i was flying in a merlin and a battlecruiser passed right next to me, i felt so small :p

  • checkthis500checkthis500 Member Posts: 1,236
You definitely see the size difference if you're next to a huge ship.  even being next to a freighter made my ship seem tiny, or coming out of a station and realizing that my frig fits between the two sections of a Megathron Battleship.  But once you're at a distance you dont really notice.  It's the same with stargates and stations.  They don't "seem" big until you try to get as close to one as possible and zoom out realizing that you cant see your ship anymore.
