Just curious if anyone is getting really horrible drawing distance issues in very large WvW fights. I'm having this issue and it's quite annoying. I literally will not see any enemy expect for a small handful, then all of a sudden 20 of them will appear around me, and I'll be right in the middle of them.
It's also annoying using any siege equipment because I can't see what I'm hitting just a short distance away, like with a catapult for instance. I'll fire into where I think they are, and sometimes I will just see damage numbers, sometimes I won't, but I'm sure I'm hitting a large group of them.
The funny thing is, I generally see all of the friendly players no matter how many there are. However, I will very often see them shooting at nothing, but see projectiles coming back at them from the enemy (but still can't see the enemies).
Windows7 64-bit, 8GB RAM, HD 7870. Have all settings on high, except maybe for shadows which i believe I turned off.

Up until last night I would have said "No, it must be your gfx card." I do a lot of WvW and it's only just started happening to me. I have a Nvidia GTX 590, SSD, i7, 16 GB ram (most of which is useless) etc., and shadows turned down and the game has run very smoothly, even during siege zergs - until now. Last night I definitely had enemies popping in way too close, which is the last thing you want obviously when travelling across the map solo with the enemy server owning pretty much everything. Ouch.
I wonder if it's related to some new patched in code or just a latency issue.?

It's probably necessary to do to cut down the lag issues when a lot of people converge at the same spot, usually two out of three servers at the same keep fight. It's pretty obvious when it happens, some random person does a suicide run on our lines, then his game updates but has no chance getting back.
Usually when this occurs my abilities become unresponsive (need to spam them to get them to activate) and on extreme occassions they don't fire up at all (usually when forces clashing trying to cross a bridge somewhere or any other bottleneck).
I think it's pretty normal to see these kind of issues in such a big combat environment. What's perhaps more worrying is that on the high population servers the queue to enter the battlegrounds is between 30mins - 2hours depending on the hour of the day. It's still a new game of course and people play in excess, but if you want to play on prime time on a high populated server, then it's likely that you won't get in WvW fast enough.
Why would you pick a high populated server you may ask? Because certain high end PvE events are tied to how players are faring in the world. If for example players do not have the numbers to defeat certain events, end game dungeons will remain barred. Or at least they will remain barred during anytime but prime time.
Thanks for the replies guys. Glad to know (and sad to know) it's not only happening to me.
It must work both ways because while I can't see the horde of enemies that I'm in the middle of, they apparently can't see me either because no one takes a shot at me until they appear on my screen.
