My most memoriable game is Asherons Call. It was the most fun game I have ever played. I really wish Turbine would re-create it. Too bad they left the MMO scene and sold to Warner Bros.
My first MMORPG. Awesome game and still is. Wish it was free.
WOohoo, some else that actually played that game. I had a blast in it and it's what got me hooked to online games, I literally started playing it within months of buying my 1st computer while in college. It was as close as you could get to making a MUD into a graphical game.
But my most memorable would be the game I got into during early Alpha testing while playing The Realm and that was Everquest. I had so many memories of that game that I've never been able to play another for very long. Asheron's Call and Shadobane would be my close 2nd and 3rd.
Hands down Final Fantasy 7. It was such a wondrous gaming revelation for me. So many middle school nights spent staying up so late I'd fall asleep with the controller in my hands, because every time I got to a new save point, I simply had to go just a little further to see what was next. Eventually I'd encounter the next save point...then the next...then the next...zZzZzZz
Honorable mention goes to Pokemon Blue. Battling friends and catching 'em all, pokemon was undeniably an integral component to my late elementary/middle school gaming golden era. Pokemon was the keystone in my RPG career, paving the way for FF7 and all future RPGs. Oh the days of fading red lights and rotating rechargeable batteries!
As for MMOs, I'd have to go with the cliche WoW. I can summon up more fun memories of vanilla, BC, and Wotlk than I would be able to relate in this thread if I typed for the next 24 hours straight. So I won't even try.
I did play FFXI for about a year and a half before and during the beginning of my WoW days, but sadly, have virtually no fond memories of that game.
I will start with three games of the old times Quake 1, Age of Empires 1 and Outpost 2 these games three games and I could add more made a great impression on me on the early days.
Later, on the mmo field I will again say three again Saga of Ryzom, Vangaurd: Saga of Heroes and Darkfall.

Defender- saw it in the arcade when I was young and got yelled at by my grandmother for wasting a dollar on the machine.
Gorf- had the highest score at the local arcade that was never beaten.
Super Mario 3- when I was an mp in the marines fellow marine and vowed not to leave the barracks until we beat the game. We did.
Battle arena Toshedan- ps1- played the game after drinking 2 qts of screwdrivers, drunk off my ass and still beating everyone. Wife was gf at that time and was not pleased with me.
Wow- stepped into my very 1st MMO.
Those I think we're most memorable.
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care. Playing: ESO, WOT, Smite, and Marvel Heroes
Mostly because it was the first party game I remember playing with all of my friends. I don't think any of us bought it, but we rented it 3 or 4 times and had a blast.
For me personally Legend of Zelda I carried me off into the world of being a gamer. Haven't looked back since.
For me, Morrowind. I spent hundreds of hours in there. Crawling my half-dead butt back to a silt-strider... "Why walk when you can ride" he says. Damn it felt so good to get home and unload.
Ken Fisher - Semi retired old fart Network Administrator, now working in Network Security. I don't Forum PVP. If you feel I've attacked you, it was probably by accident. When I don't understand, I ask. Such is not intended as criticism.
Neverwinter nights, the easy to use toolset and dungeon master interface was such a potent vehicle for player imagination.... it's a really unique thing to take part in the events of a world and manipulate them in such a way that's not scripted...sad that we probably wont see a true succesor for a long time.
For me life is the most interesting game I have ever played and am still playing it how I want. As for playing a game like game, I've yet to find one close to my first experience in EQI was the most fun I had for about 7 years after that I played Eve for 4 and left feeling cold and have not yet found another game which has come close to either but still look in vien.
SHadowBane hands down it cant be beat was played off and on since the start. So many wars so many long time friends and long time rivalry with a few played some more then others to the day FUCK REAPER. sadly over the years iv forgot what reaper it was I have a good buddy reaper and the hated.

To this day GoH core members play and have eachers numbers and jump in games with each other to the point where if we end up running in to each other in the same game we know the rules GoH comes 1st.
For me, the games that come to mind are Adventure, Final Fantasy VII, and Star Wars Galaxies.
Adventure is the game that started me on my journey into gaming. FFVII showed me that not could the game be fun, but it could look fantastic to boot. And SWG (pre-CU) was my first MMO and introduced me to the wonder of having a living breathing world to explose, not only by myself, but with other real people.

a yo ho ho
I think circumstances are more important than the game itself.
Games seemed more exciting when I was in school or a student - if you are carefree you can open your mind up to this sort of enjoyment.
I would like someone to tell me I'm wrong though!
